House Of Bruar Novices' Limited Handicap Hurdle

In good form on the Flat this summer (easy to forgive latest start on heavy going) but low-key handicap debut over hurdles when last of 8 over C&D 17 days ago. Cheekpieces go on for the first time over obstacles.

Maiden who ran right up to form when second in a 19f Carlisle handicap in April. Seemed unsuited by a sharper test when fourth of 10 at Kelso (2¼m) 16 days later and rain-softened ground also looked against him at this venue a month later. Back from a break and drops in trip.

Fair Flat maiden in Ireland and looks an improved performer over hurdles for current yard, finding only one a short-head too good at Sedgefield 10 days ago (pair clear). Claims are fairly obvious from the same mark.

Fairly useful middle-distance winner on the Flat but hasn't looked an easy ride over hurdles and isn't one to be making excuses for.

Poor maiden on the Flat but she's learning with experience over hurdles and wasn't beaten far when second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (2m) in July. Similar form when third at Sedgefield 2 weeks ago and she can remain competitive.

Limited promise for Gordon Elliott and down in trip on stable debut.

Unpromising in points and similar story in 3 novice runs at Cartmel. Handicaps are at least more suitable and a tongue tie goes on.

Fair middle-distance Flat winner for Kevin Ryan. Little show over hurdles so far (also well held on the level recently) but yard no stranger to winners here and this just his second handicap start in this sphere. Cheekpieces on first time.
