Had a remarkable 2025, winning 7 from 8 starts over summer, including a division of this corresponding event. Back to winning ways at Carlisle (1m) in July and quickly shrugged off a lesser run at this course when good third at Hamilton (6f) last month and of interest returned to 7f.
Ex Richard Hannon gelding whose sole win came in a 6.5f maiden at Newbury in June 2023. Down in the weights and has run several good races for current yard this year but others appeal more from a win point of view.
Well over a year since his last win but he ran another fine race when second of 15 in handicap at York (7f, good) 13 days ago, despite being slowly away. Likely to remain competitive.
Likeable type who won 6 times during a remarkable 2025. Had been knocking at the door this summer and added to his tally in 15-runner event at York in July. Found run of good form halted at Hamilton but quickly back on track when sixth of 19 back at aforementioned track 13 days ago.
Arrives firmly at the top of his game, narrowly completing a 4-timer in 8-runner event at Hamilton (5f, firm) in July. Did very little wrong when second from 6 lb higher at Catterick before resuming winning ways with a career best back on all-weather at Southwell. Seems sure to go well again.
Confirmed promise of his previous start when registering another Newcastle victory (7f) to his tally in May. Ran well back on turf when runner-up at Chester in June but has been below form all 3 outings since.
A dual 5f scorer in 2025 and proving notably consistent this season, making the frame for a sixth start in a row at Thirsk (7f) 2 weeks ago. Should remain competitive.
Didn't need to improve to get off the mark in 7f maiden at Musselburgh in May and has held his form well in handicaps subsequently, doing his best work late on when third in 7-runner event at Kempton (7f) latest. Will continue to give a good account.
5-time course winner but has cut little ice this year and fared no better in first-time blinkers at Musselburgh last time.
Made it fourth time lucky in 7f Newcastle novice lacking depth in late June. Checked out tamely over an extra 1f on handicap debut there next time but got straight back on track when sixth of 10 in 7f handicap at Musselburgh 26 days ago. Seems to have little wriggle room from current mark, though.

Jannas Journey (9/2), Quest For Fun (5/1), Classy Clarets (11/2), Dwindling Funds (7/1), Blakefell (15/2), Sailthisshipalone (8/1), Cotai Belle (10/1), Son (10/1), Imperial Guard (10/1), Selection (14/1), Montezin (14/1), Viper (16/1), Gweedore (20/1), King's School (20/1)
A competitive 7f handicap to conclude the card. JANNAS JOURNEY quickly cast aside a lesser effort when a close third at Hamilton last month and remains on a workable mark on the pick of last season's efforts, so she earns the tentative vote. Blakefell and Quest For Fun head the dangers in that order.
