Offered little first outing since leaving Jamie Osborne at Wolverhampton last month. Likely to extend long losing run unless a visor has a dramatic effect.

Lightly-raced sort who ran his best race when close third over C&D in June. Has failed to build on that since but shaped as if better for run after an 8-week break last time and a return to this track may prompt a revival. Wears first-time blinkers.

Got off the mark for current connections in a handicap at Haydock in May. Ran at least as well when runner-up at Ripon (1m, good to firm) following month. Not quite so good last 2 outings and drop to 6f is a bit of unknown with cheekpieces removed. Market likely to prove informative.

Lightly-raced sort who took a big step forward when readily making all at Ripon (6f) in July. Backed it up next time but ran poorly dropped to 5f at Beverley last time. Will be suited by the return to 6f and claims if getting back on the up.

Fair form on all-weather for Harry Charlton last year. Hasn't quite reproduced that on turf for current yard and drop back to 6f is slightly surprising given how she shaped over just short of 7f at Carlisle last time.

On a lengthy losing run but placed twice on turf during the summer and took a step back in the right direction when a length fifth of 11 behind Donald at Carlisle last time. Still on a good mark and he looks capable of getting involved.

Has fallen a long way in the weights and turned in his best effort of the season when ¾-length second of 13 in first-time visor at Ayr last month. Failed to back that up at Redcar last time but clearly on a good mark and more than capable of being involved if bouncing back.

Wasn't seen to best effect when 5½ lengths fourth of 10 to Great Profit in C&D event last month, meeting trouble final 1f. This requires more, however.

Remains winless but twice hit the frame at Beverley over the summer. Ran poorly upped to extended 7f last time but could again compete for minor honours if return to 6f and application of cheekpieces has a positive impact.

Gained a breakthrough win at Carlisle in May but has turned in poor efforts since. Needs to take a big step forward.

Forecasts

Fan Mail (3/1), Lamlash Bay (9/2), Macedonian (6/1), Why Because (7/1), Paroda Diva (7/1), Mare Of London (10/1), Dabbling (12/1), Record Day (12/1), Wodao (14/1), Ganthorpe (16/1), Agric Ranger (33/1)

Verdict

LAMLASH BAY remains lightly raced and will take plenty of beating in a very ordinary sprint handicap if bouncing back to the form he showed when winning at Ripon in July. Fan Mail took a step back in the right direction in a first-time visor at Carlisle 5 days ago and rates the main threat, while Record Day returns to the scene of his best effort in first-time blinkers and should strip fitter for his recent run.
