700,000 Night Of Thunder filly who landed the odds with something to spare on racecourse bow at Chester (5f). Should be up to defying a penalty in a better race here and is still entered in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes later this month.
Bred to be speedy. Clearly still learning when well held at Windsor (6f, 40/1) on second career start. Returns from 10-week break here.
Expensive breeze-up purchase (good-looking type). Still a work in progress when beaten 6½ lengths under a considerate ride at Newbury (6.5f) second time up. Now drops to the minimum trip and likely to do better at some stage for excellent yard.
Athletic sort. Gelded following his debut and duly showed much more when 4 lengths fifth of 10 at Newbury 8 weeks ago (form has worked out well). Likely to progress again for top yard and looks the main danger to Ivory Moon.
€130,000 son of No Nay Never. All the better for his debut when 2½ lengths third of 9 at Windsor (6f, good to soft) on return last month. Shaped as though speedy enough for 5f and won't be inconvenienced by the ground, either. Place claims.
Foaled March 22. Saxon Warrior colt. Half-brother to useful 5f winner Schrodinger's Cat and 1¼m winner Lunar Bird. Dam 1m-1¼m winner. Stable tend to bring their juveniles along steadily.
Foaled January 27. Written Tycoon filly. Half-sister to 2 winners in Australia, including 1m winner Island Boy. Dam Australian 6.5f winner. In very capable hands but has some better-bred rivals to contend with on racecourse bow.
Forecasts
Ivory Moon (10/11), Perfect Strike (11/2), Valdoro (11/2), Rapid Deployment (13/2), Sinova (8/1), Warriors Chant (20/1), Igrok (50/1)
This looks a good opportunity for Group 1-entered IVORY MOON to make it 2-2. Rapid Deployment and Perfect Strike remain open to improvement, the former preferred as the main danger with his latest fifth having worked out well.
