Course winner. Had breathing operation (also tongue tied) before coming in last of 12 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, good to firm) 52 days ago, stumbling badly home turn. Bit to prove.
Veteran who is a multiple winner at Beverley and posted a respectable third of 8 in handicap there (1¼m, good) 15 days ago. Tends to come good at this time of the year and not out of things.
Found the drop in trip against him when seventh of 10 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, firm) last time. Took this contest 12 months ago off a 2 lb higher mark so rates a big player.
A fair maiden on the Flat but has improved quite a bit over hurdles, scoring twice and runner-up at Musselburgh early in 2026. Needs considering despite a 160-day absence.
Remains a maiden after 18 runs but in good form until only sixth of 8 in handicap at Redcar (9f, good to firm) 39 days ago. The sort to bounce back.
Gained a first win at Pontefract in July and runner-up twice since, unable to land the odds at Catterick (1½m, firm) on latter occasion 23 days ago. In the mix once more.
Has found some improvement for reapplication of blinkers, scoring twice at Ripon in July. Posted another good effort when second of 13 in handicap there (1¼m, good to firm) 12 days ago. Should go well again.
Twenty three runs since his last win in 2024. 28/1 and tongue tied for the first time when eighth of 9 in handicap at Catterick (2m, firm) 23 days ago. Hard to warm to despite the return to a shorter trip.
Long-standing maiden under both codes. 50/1, fifth of 9 in handicap at Musselburgh (13f, good to firm) 27 days ago, never really a threat. Hard to fancy.

Hansteen (5/2), Riddikulus (3/1), Dr Rio (9/2), Vampire Slayer (11/2), Taylormade Lad (10/1), Off Spin (10/1), Hill O Rue (20/1), Speechman (25/1), Star Of Markinch (25/1), Due To Shine (33/1)
This is wide open and it could be worth siding with TAYLORMADE LAD who took this prize a year ago off a 2 lb higher mark and should prove suited by stepping back up in trip after his latest Ayr seventh. Vampire Slayer is next on the list back in this sphere after a layoff with the potential for improvement having improved over hurdles in the winter. Riddikulus and Dr Rio also need factoring in.
