Listed winner as a 2-y-o. Without a victory since but ran well in blinkers when fourth of 6 in a 7f Leopardstown Group 3 in July. Filled the same position when beaten 3 lengths by Soul Love in 15-runner listed race over C&D last time, though didn't seem ideally suited by the drop in trip.
Good test over 5f suited when landing Group 3 at Newbury last autumn. Faced quite stiff tasks over the minimum trip first 2 starts this season, before bouncing back to her best when close second in the Summer Stakes at York (6f) last time. Major player.
Sole success came in a C&D handicap last spring. Has found things tough in a trio of listed races this season, down the field in race won by Soul Love here in July, before 3½ lengths seventh of 11 at Cork (7f) 9 days ago.
Recorded back-to-back handicap wins this summer and wasn't discredited up in grade when staying on for fifth behind Soul Love in listed race over this C&D last month. However, found things tougher in another listed contest when down the field at Cork (7f) 9 days ago.
Much improved this season, winning minor events on first 2 outings before a close second to Soul Love in listed event here in July. After just 5 days off, scored cosily back in handicap company at Galway (7f) and she could be in the mix up in grade.
Maiden winner at Bellewstown (5f) in July who ran well when second in minor event over C&D early this month. Not disgraced when eighth of 12 in handicap at the Curragh (5f) 2 weeks ago, racing alone stand side, though tough ask here.
All 3 career victories at this course, making a winning return in the Lacken Stakes in May. Good 1¾ lengths fourth of 22 in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, before a below-par effort in 5f Group 2 at the Curragh 5 weeks ago. No surprise to see her bounce back here.
Has quickly developed into a useful filly, progressing again in defeat when third in the Summer Stakes at York last month (1¼ lengths behind First Instinct in second). Resumed winning ways in 15-runner listed race here by ½ length from Dancing Saxon and she's respected.
Forecasts
First Instinct (6/4), Havana Anna (2/1), Soul Love (9/2), Dancing Saxon (6/1), Chantez (16/1), Treasure Rose (20/1), Focaccia (33/1), Temperance (66/1)
FIRST INSTINCT benefited from the return to 6f when runner-up in the Summer Stakes at York last month, the others who made the frame all winning next time out, and she is taken to go one better for her much-respected yard. Three-time course winner Havana Anna is feared most, ahead of Soul Love who beat several of today's rivals here on her latest outing.
