Foaled April 12. €30,000 yearling, €50,000 2-y-o, Blackbeard colt. Half-brother to 1½m-2m winner Campaign Trail and 1½m winner Green Gate. Dam, 9f-11f winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 2½m Colour Vision. Very capable yard have him entered in a Group 2 next month. Respected.

€16,000 foal, £62,000 yearling. Persian Force colt. Offered something to work when beaten just over 1¾ lengths under a considerate ride on debut at Kempton (7f). He'll improve but does contest a much hotter race this time.

Half-brother to a useful middle-distance winner. All the rage in the betting when 2 lengths third in a muddling race on debut at Ffos Las (7.5f, soft). Shaped like a stayer when beaten 9½ lengths at Salisbury (7f, good) later in June. Handicaps/longer trips likely to be more his bag.

Foaled March 14. 150,000 gns yearling, New Bay colt. Half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Goldwork and 1¾m winner Stitching Wheel. Dam, French 7f winner, half-sister to smart 1m-1¼m winner Broderie. Speyside is likely the stable's leading hope.

Bred in the purple. Warm order when very encouraging 1¾ lengths third to a subsequent listed winner in a strong Sandown novice (7f) on debut, looking a huge threat before the lack of an outing told. Has some lofty late-season entries and looks very interesting second time up for excellent yard.

A 6-figure breeze-up buy who travelled smoothly when an unlucky third on debut at Doncaster. Improved amid underlying greenness when beaten just over 1½ lengths in valuable Goodwood maiden (6f) subsequently. Sets the standard and there could be more to come (holds Group 1 entry) stepping up to 7f.

Foaled May 7. 550,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to smart winner up to 7f Dhabab (2-y-o 6f winner) and 10.4f winner Celeres. Dam unraced. Makes plenty of appeal on paper, for all his yard hasn't been a frequent source of debut winners this season.

Foaled February 27. 24,000 gns yearling, €110,000 2-y-o, Minzaal gelding. Half-brother to 7f-1m winner Zappata and 1m/8.6f winner Crimson Rambler. Dam, 1m-1¼m winner who stayed 1½m, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Shediak. Cost 6 figures as a breeze-up but may be a longer-term prospect.

Foaled February 16. €150,000 foal, 400,000 gns 2-y-o, Lope De Vega colt. Dam, Italian 1m winner, sister to smart US/Italian winner up to 1½m Call Me Love, won Premio Lydia Tesio. Cost a pretty penny at the breeze-up sale but significant that Oisin Murphy partners Speyside. Tongue strap on for debut.

Wootton Bassett colt out of connections' British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner Hydrangea. Promising second on debut (fourth a useful winner since) at the Curragh before failing to land the odds at Killarney (1m). Cheekpieces should benefit and easily worth another chance back over 7f.

€82,000 foal, €170,000 yearling. Dark Angel colt. Brother to winner up to 6f Amiata (2-y-o 5f winner) and half-brother to winner up to 10.7f Icon Bling (2-y-o 6f winner). Dam, 6f winner, half-sister to useful 6f winner Mustallib. Some appeal on paper, but the percentage call is to look elsewhere.

210,000 gns No Nay Never colt. Dam runner-up in 6f Group 3 as a 2-y-o. Held back by inexperience on debut at Ffos Las last month, running on to finish 8½ lengths third under a hands-and-heels ride. Expected to improve without troubling the form principals.

Sent off at 40/1 and did best of the newcomers when a promising 3 lengths third in a similarly competitive Glorious Goodwood maiden. There's likely better to come, with the booking of Oisin Murphy a significant vote of confidence.

Foaled March 3. 60,000 gns yearling, Starman colt. Dam 2-y-o 5.4f winner (at this course). Debutant is probably vulnerable against some better-calibre opposition.

Forecasts

Oklahoma (13/8), Lancaster Tower (5/2), Launch Sequence (9/2), Speyside (8/1), Benjamin Hornigold (16/1), My Remas (22/1), Magwitch (25/1), Sole Ambition (33/1), Dover Street (40/1), The Thinking Man (50/1), Game Character (80/1), Pete's Angel (100/1), Rossbeigh (100/1), Master Celeritas (125/1), Galipi (150/1)

Verdict

LANCASTER TOWER was notably strong in the market when shaping with plenty of encouragement behind a subsequent listed winner on debut. He looks sure to progress from that and is fancied to land this valuable maiden en route to better things. Launch Sequence is feared most following his third in a strong Glorious Goodwood maiden, while Oklahoma commands plenty of respect for an Aidan O'Brien stable bidding to win this race for a third time in 4 years.
