Gained a deserved success (formerly with Richard Hannon) for new yard in 26-runner handicap at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) 10 days ago, doing well to overcome troubled passage. Has to be taken seriously despite 4 lb rise.

Forecasts

French Affair (13/8), Space Bear (11/4), Masaban (11/4), Bye Law (10/1), Brave Traveller (18/1), Bleep Test (20/1), Houndhill (22/1)

Verdict

FRENCH AFFAIR took his form up a notch when making a winning start for Jennie Candlish at Glorious Goodwood and can make light of a 3 lb weights rise. In-form Masaban could emerge as the one to chase him home ahead of Brave Traveller and Space Bear.
