Eventus Irish EBF (C & G) Maiden

Wootton Bassett colt who showed plenty of ability amidst clear signs of inexperience when 3½ lengths fifth of 8 to Nail House in 6f maiden at Fairyhouse 19 days ago. Step up to 7f should suit given his pedigree and looks sure to progress. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Ghaiyyath gelding. Looked one for the longer term when 13½ lengths fifth of 5 to Venetian Power in extended 1m novice at Killarney on debut.

Half-brother to smart 1m-1¼m winner Poker Face and useful 5.5f/6f winner Star Devine (both by Fastnet Rock). Dam, 1¼m winner, half-sister to 1000 Guineas/Oaks winner Blue Bunting. Makes plenty of appeal on paper but jockey bookings suggest he's not the stable's first string.

€80,000 brother to smart German/US winner up to 11f Mylady (2-y-o 7.4f/1m winner) and half-brother to 3 winners, including useful German winner up to 8.4f Maigret (2-y-o 7f/1m winner) and French 7f-1m winner Missouri (both by Counterattack). Yard 1 from 7 with 2-y-o debutants in 2026.

Shaped very well when 2 lengths second on debut at the Curragh (6f, good). Highly tried since but took a step forward when 2¼ lengths third of 7 to Dancing Destiny in 1m listed race at Naas 23 days ago.

Showed plenty to work on first time up when second of 10 in maiden at Roscommon (7.5f, good) in May but seemed inconvenienced by drop to 6f in Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot. Return to longer trip should suit.

Shaped very well when length third of 17 to Switching Sides in maiden at Fairyhouse in June, finishing with a flourish from unpromising position, but failed to back that up at the Curragh a fortnight later. Step up to 7f here will suit.

Night of Thunder colt. Shaped well when 6½ lengths fifth of 8 to Giant Sequoia in warm maiden at Curragh on debut. Open to improvement.
