Confirmed debut promise at second time of asking when scoring with something to spare at Chepstow (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Steps up to 1m for handicap debut.

Form: 491

Areti^t¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: W Buick| T: Oliver Cole| OR: 75

8/1

0-7 but has been largely consistent, including fourth (Lightning Glory second) of 14 on 1m Southwell handicap debut 12 days ago. Place claims with William Buick taking the reins.

Form: 62-2524

(9)

Pierpoint³⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon| OR: 75

25/1

Fair form on first 2 runs. Possibly unsuited by softer ground when performing well below that level over 9f here last time. Remains unexposed now handicapping but her opening mark isn't obviously generous.

Form: 740

(6)

Rajiba¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Oisin Murphy| T: R Hughes| OR: 74

4/1

Has progressed when reaching the frame on all 3 all-weather starts. The drop back to 7f looked to suit when length third at Kempton latest so the step back up in trip for handicap/turf debut isn't certain to help but she's unexposed and Oisin Murphy rides.

Form: 4-23

(10)

Luminare³⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Tom Marquand| T: W J Haggas| OR: 73

4/1

Successful twice at 5f/7f last year. Creditable placed efforts on last 3 starts, although the form of her latest C&D second has taken a few knocks.

Form: 31-6232

(8)

Accademia¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: K Shoemark| T: E Walker| OR: 72

3/1

All the sharper for reappearance when making it second time lucky in handicaps at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) a fortnight ago. Took that in the style of one who can do better again, particularly now moving up to 1m. Gets the vote.

Form: 744-51

(1)

Starlight Sami²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: George Bass| T: D J Coakley| OR: 71

17/2

Built on promising return effort when winning 14-runner handicap at Salisbury (7f, good to soft) in May. Disappointed over 7f here on much quicker ground since, though.

Form: 228-310

(2)

Lightning Glory¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Rossa Ryan| T: S & E Crisford| OR: 71

9/1

All 4 starts on all-weather, showing improved form when second of 14 on 1m Southwell handicap debut 12 days ago. Same mark here and should have a big say if as effective on turf.

Form: 4342

(5)

Majd Al Kazem²⁶⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Saffie Osborne| T: H Kobeissi| OR: 71

12/1

Improved form when third of 7 in 7f Catterick maiden last August but well held in Newmarket handicap on final start. Likely best watched on this return from 8 months off (has been gelded).

Form: 5438-

(3)

Berlinetta¹⁷²

Age: 3| Weight: 8-13| J: Connor Beasley| T: J Channon| OR: 65

12/1

Raced at sprint trips in a handful of starts for William Haggas. Better effort in 6f handicaps at the beginning of 2026 when fifth of 9 at Wolverhampton. Steps up in trip for new yard after 6 months off. The betting is perhaps the best guide to expectations.

Form: 653-75

Forecasts

Accademia (3/1), Luminare (4/1), Rajiba (4/1), Areti (8/1), Starlight Sami (17/2), Lightning Glory (9/1), Berlinetta (12/1), Majd Al Kazem (12/1), Pierpoint (25/1), Name The Day (25/1)

ACCADEMIA looks capable of better again on the back of her Doncaster success and can make light of a 7 lb rise. Lightning Glory made a good start to her handicap career when second at Southwell 12 days ago and turns out again before a 3 lb rise for that kicks in. The reliable Areti wasn't far behind the Crisford's charge at Southwell and is next on the list.
