Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle (0-100)

Off time: 19:19 | Winning time: 4m 57.90s

Riyami^p,t²⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: Alan O'Sullivan⁽²⁾| T: D Hogan| OR: 97

10/1

Won on the Flat at Dundalk (2m) in March (reportedly had a breathing operation prior), has lost way in that sphere since and there was little encouragement to be gleaned from his last effort over hurdles.

Form: 5350/6-8

Brohatna^h¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Michael Kenneally| T: M Rice| OR: 96

20/1

In first-time hood, made more impact than previously in maiden hurdles when 7 lengths fourth of 12 to Silly Mongoose at Kilbeggan last month. Step back up in trip should suit on handicap debut, but improvement needed.

Form: 0/554

Pourquoi Poi²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Ben Kennedy⁽⁴⁾| T: P W Flynn| OR: 96| BF| D

11/2

Won 2½m handicap hurdle at Punchestown last season. Stepped up on chasing debut when 3¼ lengths third of 16 to Le Grand Vert in 25f handicap at same course last month. Stepping back down in trip shouldn't be an issue reverting to hurdling.

Form: 5158-63

Hurricane Honey^t²⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Kevin Healy⁽⁴⁾| T: S Cavanagh| OR: 95

12/1

Won on Downpatrick reappearance last July, but hit and miss since. Might have needed the run when 7½ lengths seventh of 16 to Timurshah at Sligo on return for a new yard last month. Claims if stepping forward from that reappearance.

Form: 13720-7

Clone Cross²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: Aidan Kelly| T: S Cavanagh| OR: 94

12/1

Posted a much-improved effort when second of 11 in novice hurdle at Wexford (2½m, good to soft, 100/1) in May, but became virtually unrideable when failing to back that up on handicap debut at Sligo last time. Untrustworthy.

Form: 6P-FP2P

Hitthehayson^p²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Josh Williamson| T: Ian Donoghue| OR: 93| D

9/2

Bounced back to form when 4¼ lengths second of 14 at Downpatrick last month. Enjoyed the run of the race that day, but remains on a handy mark based on his win over fences at Haydock last season.

Form: 532P-02

Soldier Saint^h²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: Jordan Canavan⁽⁴⁾| T: Mark E McCrory| OR: 89

15/2

Modest maiden handicap hurdler who has made the frame once from 4 starts this season. Latest 1 lb drop not enough to make him of interest.

Form: 00-0548

Georginas Jet²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Jack Gilligan⁽²⁾| T: P J Gilligan| OR: 88

4/1

Returned to form from out of the blue when winning 14-runner handicap at Downpatrick last time, beating Bryson by 10 lengths. Up 8 lb but likely to be thereabouts if giving her running.

Form: 28PP-91

Poetic Focus³⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Josh Younge⁽⁴⁾| T: A Slattery| OR: 88

12/1

Largely well held over hurdles last season and was much too free when failing to make much of an impact on return/stable debut in May

Form: 5P4F0-7

My Policy^p⁴³⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Alix Balfe⁽⁴⁾| T: P Rooney| OR: 87

33/1

Placed 4 times in 2024/25. Has been given a chance by the handicapper if he's ready to go on the back of a 14-month absence. Interesting should he attract support in the betting.

Form: 325P82/

Fervida¹⁵¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Ross Berry⁽⁴⁾| T: J A Berry| OR: 84

100/1

Has no form in maiden hurdles.

Form: 9UP89P-

Ballinagaine Girl³⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Paddy Hanlon⁽²⁾| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 83

9/1

Left previous hurdling efforts well behind when neck second of 18 to Larkins Lane at Limerick. Up 4 lb but winner that day has gone in again since and any further progress will see her firmly involved in the finish.

Form: 06700-2

Granlahan²⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Patrick M O'Brien⁽²⁾| T: A McGuinness| OR: 86

15/2

Placed in handicap hurdles on last 2 starts, producing best effort when 4 lengths third of 16 to Timurshah at Sligo on latest. Each-way claims again.

Form: 060-833

Clever Court^b³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: Shane O'Callaghan| T: P J Rothwell| OR: 72

50/1

Maiden hurdler who has been pulled up on 5 of his 8 starts, including his last 4.

Form: 00PP-PP

Whiskey Serenade³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Eoghan Finegan⁽²⁾| T: Thomas Coyle| OR: 88

33/1

Standout effort over hurdles when placed in a mares maiden at Tramore last season. Little impact in handicaps on last 3 starts. RESERVE.

Forecasts

Georginas Jet (4/1), Codger's Rock (4/1), Hitthehayson (9/2), Pourquoi Poi (11/2), Soldier Saint (15/2), Granlahan (15/2), Ballinagaine Girl (9/1), Riyami (10/1), Clone Cross (12/1), Poetic Focus (12/1), Hurricane Honey (12/1), Brohatna (20/1), Agent Tequila (25/1), Whiskey Serenade (33/1), My Policy (33/1), Mother Ship (33/1), Clever Court (50/1), Lost Features (66/1), Fervida (100/1)

CODGER’S ROCK showed improved form last time and can be expected to take another step forward now tackling a handicap with headgear applied. Georginas Jet and Ballinagaine Girl also arrive on the back of career-best efforts and rate the main dangers, while Hitthehayson is capable of being involved if running to his best.
