Largely disappointing since back-to-back wins at Leopardstown 2 winters ago, soon behind after some iffy jumping here 8 weeks ago.

Won a couple of novice hurdles at Clonmel last summer and won't be long in doing the same in this sphere judged on his second at Kilbeggan last month, a late mistake spoiling his chance. Can go one better.

Placed all 3 completed starts over fences, finding only a chasing newcomer too good at Tramore last month. Good record here and respected on handicap debut in this sphere with cheekpieces refitted.

Off the mark over fences for new trainer when landing 2m Tramore handicap last month from Presenting Lad. May kick on from that.

Fairly useful winner over hurdles and good chance her 3 runs over fences haven't got to the bottom of her, shaping as if a first run in 7 months at Kilbeggan will bring her on. One to note now handicapping back in trip.

Hurdles/chase winner who wasn't seen to best effect in Punchestown handicap chase earlier this month but has a bit more on his plate here.

Won 2 handicap hurdles in late-2024/25 and retains most of that ability judged on his second at Roscommon on his completed start over fences. On a fair mark if taking another step forward.

Got a hat-trick up in summer 2024 but winless and hard to catch right since, well beaten after a bad mistake 3 out at Roscommon 3 weeks ago.

Has saved some of her best performances for this venue, successful over hurdles last summer and running well from the front when second in C&D handicap 8 weeks ago. That form has a solid look to it and she could feature.

Hasn't shown his best for a while but is now 7 lb lower in the weights than when scoring at Thurles in January 2025. Tongue strap back on but might find this test inadequate.

Finally notched up a first win over obstacles when landing Limerick handicap chase last month, front-running tactics back in use and putting in a sure-footed round of jumping. Could go well again up 7 lb.

Forecasts

Party President (7/2), Tequila Talkin' (9/2), Mic Drop (5/1), Mercury Mission (7/1), Femme Magnifique (8/1), Trasna Na Pairce (17/2), Presenting Lad (9/1), Solsbury Hill (14/1), Be Fierce (18/1), Ma Belle Etoile (20/1), That's About Right (22/1), Jane Eire (22/1), An Peann Dearg (28/1)

Verdict

TRASNA NA PAIRCE did well to survive a shocking mistake at the last when second at Kilbeggan and can go one better back down in trip off the same mark. Mercury Mission has a good record here and is respected now going handicapping in this sphere. Jane Eire could also improve switched to handicaps and is part of a strong challenge for Henry de Bromhead.
