Smart at best, winning a listed race over this trip at Newmarket in November but failed to stay when fourth of 5 in a Group 3 over 1½m at Newbury 20 days ago. Will prove suited by drop back in trip and grade.
All 4 wins in 2024 came on soft or heavy ground and didn't really get his conditions last year. Returns after breathing operation in first-time cheekpieces and has won over C&D so is one to keep an eye on given he's also gone well fresh in the past.
Won on handicap debut last July before listed attempts and then returned after 6 months off with a good second of 6 in C&D handicap 38 days ago, left with too much to do. Up 5 lb but likely not reached his limit and is one to take seriously.
Progressive since switching to front-running tactics, winning 2 of his last 3 starts, most recently successful by clear margin at Chester 28 days ago. Up 9 lb and far from certain to get his own way out in front from stall 15, but impossible to leave out of calculations.
Cesarewitch winner in October and proven at least as good when placed in all 4 handicap starts this year before out of depth in Group 3 company last time. Drops back in trip and grade now but his style will demand some luck around here.
Stayed on strongly to win 1¼m Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot for Andrew Balding last June but not seen since and now starting out for a new yard (775,000 gns buy, subsequently gelded) so will need to hit the ground running.
Made up into a useful sort last year and probably needed run when ninth of 11 in a handicap at Chester 28 days ago. Should strip fitter for that and now tries cheekpieces, but others appeal as better treated.
Smart at best but absent since finishing last of 10 in a 1½m turf handicap at Meydan in February, beaten 21½ lengths, and is hard to fancy starting out for a new yard.
Prolific all-weather winner but out of depth in similar event at York recently and looks set to struggle again.
Stepped up on reappearance run when third of 6 at Windsor 11 days ago, going down fighting, but this looks much deeper and may prove vulnerable to less-exposed rivals.
Won at Pontefract in April but that was a weakish class 2. Acquitted himself well from career-high mark when fifth of 15 at York 21 days ago when having to wait for a run, but this looks tougher again.
Relatively unexposed and has often shaped as though he has a bigger performance in him, including when third of 12 at Newmarket over 9f in May, coming home first in his group. This step back up to a slightly longer trip looks sure to suit and he's one to be interested in.
Completed back-to-back wins when scoring at Chester over this trip in a handicap 29 days ago off a 7-month break, scoring by a nose. Up 3 lb and faces much stronger opposition here.
Gave running when fifth of 21 in the Lincoln at Doncaster in March but hasn't scored since 2024 and likely to prove vulnerable for win purposes once more, though does have some course form to his name.
Returned to the Flat with creditable second of 7 in a handicap at Redcar in April, not getting a clear run before running on well. Capable of better with more luck here but this is a lot more competitive.
Has gone the right way for new connections, fourth on debut for the yard in March before shaping well when runner-up twice since. Likely to get his head in front again before too long but this good race might prove a bridge too far.

Sallaal (5/2), Respond (11/4), Hand Of God (6/1), Alpha Crucis (9/1), Ammes (10/1), Tycoon (10/1), Spoken Truth (12/1), Liberty Lane (12/1), Quai De Bethune (14/1), Bolster (16/1), Auld Toon Loon (20/1), Have Secret (25/1), Let's Dream (25/1), Beylerbeyi (28/1), Great David (40/1), King's Code (66/1), Dhahabi (100/1)
HAND OF GOD proved better than ever when scoring at Newbury and a 5 lb rise looks well within his capabilities if in the same heart here. Respond will be dangerous if getting his way out in front and Sallaal is unexposed, too.
