Worked his way back to best on first 3 starts this year, looking unlucky not to win when beaten by a neck at Wolverhampton (7f) in February. Was left poorly placed at York last time, so he's worth another chance with the potential for plenty of pace in this race.
Signed off 2025 with back-to-back wins at Newcastle in November and returned to form this season when going close here 26 days ago. 6-time C&D winner so he can make another bold bid as he drops back down in grade.
Usually races over 7f nowadays, successful at Newcastle in September and got back on track when runner-up there in March. Hasn't built on that in 2 subsequent outings, though, failing to see his race out when ninth of 14 back at Newcastle 6 weeks ago.
Dropped in grade for only second handicap start, got back on the up when opening account in 14-runner handicap at Redcar (7f) in November. Yard has been going well ahead of his return from 7 months off.
Stepped up on reappearance run when winning at Catterick (6f) in April. Has made the frame over 5f both starts since but without managing to build on that effort, below form when fourth of 10 at Carlisle 16 days ago.
Sole success came in a 7f Newmarket novice back in 2024 for William Haggas. However, he made the frame twice over this C&D last season and ran creditably after 7 months off when second at Doncaster (6f) 18 days ago. Entitled to step forward from recent run.
Ended his time with Andrew Slattery with a good fourth of 16 on handicap debut at Gowran (7f) in October. Shaped as if needing the run on seasonal/stable debut when down the field at Doncaster (6f) 18 days ago, so this should reveal more.
Capitalised on easing mark at Wetherby in April and, having met trouble in running next time, resumed winning ways when getting up late at Redcar 16 days ago. Can remain competitive back up 2 lb in the weights.
4-time C&D winner whose latest success came at Carlisle a year ago. However, was largely below form the remainder of the campaign and failed to come on for return when seventh of 10 at Carlisle (7f) 16 days ago.
Made a winning reappearance at Catterick (7f) last spring and better than ever when also making all at Redcar in September on final start of the season. Ran poorly at Thirsk on this season's return, though, and is making a rare start at 6f nowadays.

Fortamour (10/3), Glory Hyde (9/2), Raft Up (5/1), Cairdeas (6/1), Beattie Is Back (6/1), Blind Beggar (15/2), Magic Boy (9/1), Bay Breeze (10/1), Keldeo (10/1), Blazing Son (16/1), Men Of Honour (22/1), William Dewhirst (25/1), Miss Willows (28/1)
FORTAMOUR bounced back to form when only narrowly edged out here last time and he can build on that effort to add another C&D success to his tally. The main danger could be Beattie Is Back, who had excuses at York on his latest outing, ahead of Glory Hyde.
