Ten Sovereigns colt who produced a promising first effort when just touched off on debut at Wolverhampton (6f) 3 weeks ago, early exuberance/inexperience under pressure costing him victory. Will improve and he's one to consider.
Showed plenty despite big odds when close third of 8 at Musselburgh on debut in April and similar form when filling same spot over the extended 5f here 23 days ago, moving sweetly again but swamped late. Can progress further but draw makes things tricky.
Foaled March 10. €100,000 foal, 90,000 gns yearling, £145,000 2-y-o, Mehmas colt. Half-brother to useful winner up to 1m Habrdi and 2-y-o 6f winner Inside Story. Has the plum draw to work from on debut so worth a precautionary market check.
Foaled May 14. Massaat gelding. Half-brother to 6f winner Not A Sinner and winner up to 7.4f Amber Blossom. Dam, 6f winner (including at 2 yrs), half-sister to useful winner up to 9f Tauman.
Kodi Bear colt who wasn't seen to best effect when finishing ninth of 10 in a 5.5f maiden here on debut 23 days ago, badly hampered final 1f and not recover. Likely improver for yard who do very well here.
Starspangledbanner colt who was very green and didn't threaten when last of 6 on debut in a Goodwood novice (5f) 4 weeks ago. This promises to reveal more upped in trip.
Makes obvious appeal on paper and shaped with plenty of encouragement when second in a Newbury maiden (6f) 2 weeks ago. Knew his job well then but he looks sure to progress and good chance he can go one place better here.
Sioux Nation colt who looked and shaped as if better for the run when tenth of 15 in a York novice (6f) 16 days ago. Should last longer this time and there's better to come.
Showcasing colt who proved very green but found the strong pace bringing him into it late on when just failing to land a Hamilton novice (6f) 2 weeks ago. Looks sure to improve and no surprise to see him in the mix.
Foaled April 12. €105,000 yearling, 240,000 gns 2-y-o, Starman colt. Dam unraced half-sister to winner up to 7f Majestic Myles and 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 1m) Parbold (both smart). Noteworthy newcomer who commands close market scrutiny.
Foaled April 15. €85,000 foal, £17,000 2-y-o, Havana Grey filly. Dam, runner-up at 1m in Slovakia at 2 yrs, half-sister to useful winner up to 12.5f Preferential. Yard 1-11 with juvenile runners in last 5 seasons.

The well-bred PURE GRIT knew his job and offered plenty to work on when second in a Newbury maiden 2 weeks ago and, with progress firmly anticipated, Andrew Balding's colt looks to have plenty going for him. There are several interesting ones in opposition, headed up by This Moment, Blake's Monarch and Caturra Lights. Virtuous Star is a newcomer to note in the betting.
