Law Court¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-11| J: Faleh Bugheniam| T: R Hannon| OR: 82

13/2

In frame on all 4 starts but took form up a level when second of 10 on handicap debut at Newbury (1m, good) 12 days ago, unlucky to not make more of a race of it with the winner having come from further back than ideal. Nudged up 3 lb but can continue theme of gradual progression.

Form: 43-22

Suddenly I See²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: W Buick| T: C Johnston| OR: 80| D

12/1

Confirmed promise of debut when winning maiden at Musselburgh in September and, after 7 months off, took a big step forward sent handicapping when making all at the same course (1m) last month (Blues And Royals second). Latest run at Beverley easy enough to excuse and can resume his progress.

Form: 31-16

(4)

Blues And Royals²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Saffie Osborne| T: M L W Bell| OR: 80| D

7/1

Proved a different proposition when a winning reappearance/handicap debut at Kempton in March and justified support when doubling his tally back there earlier in the month, quickening to lead final 1f. Progressing gradually so certainly not out of things returned to turf.

Form: 873-121

(9)

The Joker¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: S De Sousa| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam| OR: 80

7/2

Fairly useful maiden who attracted strong support but proved unable to contain a less-exposed pair having got warm beforehand when third of 8 in handicap at Newmarket (1¼m, good to firm) 12 days ago.

Form: 3429-33

(5)

Montague Menace¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Callum Hutchinson| T: A M Balding| OR: 79

50/1

Put his experience to good use to make a successful reappearance in maiden at Lingfield (7f) in March. Tailed off in turf handicaps at Epsom/York subsequently so he needs to get back on track.

Form: 489-150

(3)

Loblolly⁵³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: R Havlin| T: S Woods| OR: 79

50/1

Won a 7f all-weather maiden at Lingfield last September but well held in handicaps the last twice, most recently on return at Southwell (7f) early last month. Watching brief advised for now.

Form: 82216-6

(7)

Luzon Heights²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Marco Ghiani| T: W J Knight| OR: 79| D

9/2

Off the mark in a 6-runner nursery at Southwell (1m) in September and has taken his form up a notch this season, second of 11 at Ascot (1m, good to firm) just under 3 weeks ago. Handicapper has nudged him up 3 lb for that near miss.

Form: 3412-52

(8)

Brave Hunter¹⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Oisin Murphy| T: I Mohammed & J Santos| OR: 79

4/1

Showed improved form switched to a handicap/upped to 1m in 12-runner event at Windsor earlier in the month, just bumping into a progressive type completing a 4-timer. Nudged up 1 lb but needs keeping a close eye on with Murphy booked.

Form: 38-62

(6)

Darzah¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Cieren Fallon| T: W J Haggas| OR: 78| D

11/2

Showed improved form to get off the mark with debut under her belt in 6-runner novice at Bath (1m, good to firm) just over a fortnight ago, leading 2f out. Makes a quick switch to handicaps and will go on improving for her top yard.

Form: 51

(10)

Brighlee^h1⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Rossa Ryan| T: D Menuisier| OR: 76

33/1

Runner-up twice as a 2-y-o but was too free after 6 months off when fifth of 12 in novice at Nottingham (8.3f, good to soft) just under 6 weeks ago. That should have taken some of the freshness out of her and no surprise to see a first-time hood on now handicapping.

Form: 2624-5

(12)

Trio²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Charles Bishop| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR: 71| D

12/1

Improved for the step up to 1m when landing Leicester maiden in October. Placed all 3 starts in handicaps, 2 lengths third of 9 to Blues And Royals at Kempton (1m) just over 3 weeks ago. In need of some respite from the assessor.

Form: 6613-33

(11)

Crimson Rambler^b³⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Ray Dawson| T: M Crawley| OR: 69| D

40/1

Built on previous promise to notch back-to-back victories at around 1m in March. Continued the good work returned to turf when placed both starts the following month and has since left George Scott (sold for 20,000gns). Drops back to 1m.

Form: 211423

Forecasts

The Joker (7/2), Brave Hunter (4/1), Luzon Heights (9/2), Darzah (11/2), Law Court (13/2), Blues And Royals (7/1), Trio (12/1), Suddenly I See (12/1), Brighlee (33/1), Crimson Rambler (40/1), Loblolly (50/1), Montague Menace (50/1)

Stacks of potential on show in this 3-y-o handicap with the vote going to SUDDENLY I SEE, who beat the reopposing Blues And Royals at Musselburgh on penultimate start and can have a line put through his latest effort. Darzah is in the right hands to make up into a useful sort, so she heads up the dangers making a quick switch to handicaps, while Law Court and the aforementioned Blues And Royals are another couple to consider, as well.
