Went backwards from an encouraging reappearance run at Aintree in November, faring no better for the addition of first-time cheekpieces on final start of last season at Wincanton in March. Mark continues to fall though, if short break has had positive effect ahead of this.

Bumper winner in Ireland who rattled off a hat-trick of hurdle victories for this yard on handicap debut at Plumpton (20.5f) in November. Disappointed on testing ground at same course later that month but will find conditions more suitable here and stable continue in excellent form.

Fair performer who landed a Ludlow bumper in October and made it second time lucky over hurdles at same course a month later. Fell next start but showed no ill effects when third on most recent start there in novice company. Step up in trip looks a good move now handicapping.

Opened his account for James Ewart at Haydock in March 2025. Improved when second at Doncaster in November and whilst not at his best on last 2 starts his previous exploits read well in the context of this. Cheekpieces on 1st time.

Fair Flat maiden who showed much improved form to get off the mark on handicap debut at Hereford (2m) last month. Nothing wrong with his third under a penalty over the extended 18f here next time and he appeals as one of the likelier types now stamina is tested further.

Didn't look a natural sent chasing and back in this sphere with a solid second of 9 in handicap at Hereford (2m) 6 weeks ago. Off the same mark here but doesn't appeal as one to be ideally suited by the return to this longer trip.

Fair winning hurdler for Joseph O'Brien who ran best race for present yard when second at Kelso (20.8f) earlier this month. Noted making steady progress when taken out by a faller 3 out at Uttoxeter since and he's not discounted from this sort of mark.

HIGH DANCER needs to bounce back from a couple of lesser efforts but the pick of his form since joining Nicky Richards reads well in the context of this race and he could be worth chancing in what is a wide-open event. Jackstell returns to action with his yard going great guns and he's feared, along with Lord Chamberlain. Crebilly isn't dismissed lightly either from a tumbling mark.
