Has made a fine start for this yard, third of 8 in handicap (17/2) at Cork (1m, heavy) 25 days ago. Good apprentice up and should find an opening before long.

Looked to be brought along with handicaps in mind judged on his 3 Dundalk efforts for Gavin Cromwell and might have needed his Roscommon run for new yard (fitted with cheekpieces) 17 days ago. Could do better here.

Kc Bear76
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: Colin Keane| T: N Meade| OR:  65| BF
Won at Dundalk (6f) in December and, sent off at evens, ran at least as well in defeat over 1m there in March, just a bit too free for his own good on first try at the trip. Better expected back on turf after another break.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6| J: Billy Lee| T: A Oliver| OR:  64
Modest maiden with just one standout effort (over 1m at Galway) for Michael Mulvany. Returns for in-form yard with tongue tie left off and could do better.

Fortuityp17
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: Shane Foley| T: Mrs J Harrington| OR:  63
Improved under a positive ride when second of 13 in handicap at Roscommon (7.5f, good, 14/1) 17 days ago, left behind by impressive winner. Can go well again off same mark.

Merry Blacksmitht17
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: Andrew Slattery| T: A Slattery| OR:  63
Looked to have been brought along with handicaps in mind and shaped better than the distance beaten suggests at Roscommon (7.5f, good) 17 days ago, short of room at a vital stage. Bred to do better (half-sister to a Fred Darling winner).

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: Adam Caffrey| T: A McGuinness| OR:  63
Has had plenty of racing (runner-up twice at Dundalk) and found run of good form coming to a halt back up in trip when seventh of 13 in handicap (8/1) at Roscommon (7.5f, good) 17 days ago. Looks vulnerable.

Bits of promise in maidens at 2 yrs and proved too free making handicap debut after 7 months off at Roscommon (7.5f, good) 17 days ago, held behind a few of today's rivals.

Fair juvenile maiden for Johnny Murtagh. Mid-field in a couple of handicaps for new yard this year (behind Fortuity at Roscommon 17 days ago). Looks vulnerable.

Holding form well at Dundalk under this rider and opened account in 12-runner handicap (7f, 10/3) 48 days ago, well on top finish. Up 5 lb and another big run likely if keeping up the good work back on turf.

Well held in turf maidens on soft/heavy at up to 10.5f. Could do better now handicapping in first-time blinkers and an Irish Oaks entry certainly catches the eye.

Raced solely at Dundalk, faring better when fifth on handicap debut over this trip last month, but then last of 10 (1m, 9/2) 35 days ago. Bit to prove now switched to turf.

Forecasts

Kc Bear (2/1), Royal County Glory (7/2), Fortuity (5/1), Venetian Star (10/1), Elly Bay (10/1), Lady Kelly (12/1), One Cool Bear (14/1), Merry Blacksmith (16/1), Caoilte (16/1), Thirsty Owl (20/1), Millhone (25/1), Chapel Island (25/1), Alandownunder (33/1)

Verdict

Not many previous winners in the field but ROYAL COUNTY GLORY is one of the exceptions having deservedly opened his account at Dundalk 7 weeks ago and he can go well again if carrying on the good work back on turf. Fortuity ran into an impressive well-backed scorer of Joseph O'Brien's at Roscommon and must be feared off the same mark, while Thirsty Owl, Kc Bear and Lady Kelly also make some appeal.
