Standing up well to a busy spell, successful again in C&D conditional jockeys handicap last month and just failing at Fontwell (I Shut That d'Or third) 3 weeks ago. Should give another good account.

Won 3 handicap chases in 2024/25, including 2 over C&D, and ran much better on his second start back after 13 months off when third at Fontwell (Begin The Luck second) 3 weeks ago, upsides when making an uncharacteristic error 2 out. Well handicapped if stepping up on that.

Produced a determined display to get off the mark over smaller obstacles at Newcastle (2½m) in January and has continued in good form in this headgear, runner-up again on chase debut in a weak 3m Uttoxeter handicap at the start of the month. Up 4 lb and this is more competitive despite the numbers.

Going through a relatively good spell over fences by his low standards but remains a maiden and surely vulnerable back up in class.

Forecasts

Cher Monsieur (11/10), Begin The Luck (10/3), I Shut That D'or (4/1), Bahtiyar (5/1)

Verdict

I SHUT THAT D'OR has dipped below his last successful mark and hinted at a full revival at Fontwell last time. He's scored on his last 2 visits to Plumpton and could be the way to go. Begin The Luck just failed in the same race when bidding to follow up his own C&D win and seems sure to go well again.
