Lightly-raced 7-y-o who was vastly improved from his chasing debut when cosily winning 5-runner handicap chase at Southwell (3m) 7 weeks ago. Up 6 lb but could have more to offer. Big player.

Point/bumper winner who was runner-up in novice events (both at around 23f) at Uttoxeter and Worcester on first 2 starts over hurdles. Found the drop in trip against him on return from 6 months off here 4 weeks ago and this rates a much more suitable test on handicap chase bow (point winner).

Maiden over hurdles who confirmed promise of his chase debut minus the hood when readily landing 21.5f handicap here 2 weeks ago. Had enough in hand to suggest he can make a bold bid to follow up from this 6 lb higher mark.

Got off the mark over hurdles here in March and quickly dispelled a lesser effort on first try chasing when 3¾ lengths third of 7 to Loki's Mischief over extended 21f here 2 weeks ago. Should be much closer to that rival on these revised terms.

Forecasts

Loki's Mischief (7/4), Hell Hound (11/4), Jack's Jury (3/1), Axel Bleue (9/2)

Verdict

LOKI'S MISCHIEF confirmed the promise of his chase debut when scoring over shorter here 2 weeks ago and a 6 lb rise for that success may not be enough to prevent him following up. Fellow last-time-out winner Hell Hound remains with his best days as a chaser ahead of him and can provide chief resistance.
