Horse Comes First Handicap

5/1, run best excused when fifth of 10 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good) 20 days ago, meeting trouble and finishing with plenty of running left. One to note in the betting.

Stepped up on reappearance/stable debut when a close fourth in handicap on the all-weather at Lingfield (6f) in April. Below form on last 2 starts and now steps down in grade.

6f maiden winner at Hamilton for Karl Burke last summer and ran well in nurseries on first 2 starts for current yard in December. Better for run when third of 8 in handicap (13/2) at Catterick (5f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Should build on that and merits consideration.

Promising in early stages of 2-y-o campaign, winning a novice over C&D, but lost way over the course of the season. 7/2, shaped as if better for run on first outing since leaving Richard Hannon when sixth of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 14 days ago. Market may be best guide.

Thrice-raced maiden who's been placed on both outings on the all-weather this season. Has been gelded since last seen and is a likely improver now sent handicapping.

Off the mark in a maiden at Beverley in September but has failed to progress in handicaps since. Has the visor back on but it's easy to look elsewhere.

Has proved more miss than hit since scoring in a maiden at Lingfield (7f) in February. Has crept back down the weights as a result and any positive market moves should be noted.

Showed improved form to get off the mark at Newcastle on handicap debut in March. Third of 5 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 11/10) just 9 days later. Subsequently sold from George Scott for 10,000 gns and is an interesting sort on turf debut.
