Masaban¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Callum Rodriguez| T: E Bethell| OR: 60

8/11

Showed promise in his qualifying runs (trained by Dermot Weld first 2 starts) and appeals as a likely improver in handicaps. Gets the vote, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong.

Form: 58-6

Miss Mambo²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Liam Wright⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss Gay Kelleway| OR: 59

22/1

Finished well when fourth on debut over 6f at Chelmsford last year but hasn't progressed from that in 3 subsequent starts. Improvement needed now pitched into a handicap.

Form: 40-73

(6)

Dalamara¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: A Mullen| T: B Haslam| OR: 58| D

11/2

Much improved upped to 1m to make a winning nursery debut at Newcastle in December. Backed that up when fourth of 12 on her 1m Redcar reappearance (good) 17 days ago, keeping on from too far back (started slowly). Respected, particularly if breaking on terms.

Form: 4771-4

(4)

Clear Above¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey| OR: 57

13/2

Modest form and no significant in handicaps over 7f at Wolverhampton and 1m at Southwell last month. Improvement needed back on the grass.

Form: 04-345

(5)

Resdev Time¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Billy Garritty| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 55

17/2

Modest maiden who ran respectably when fifth of 12 on his 1m Redcar reappearance but the reopposing Dalamara was just under 3 lengths ahead in fourth. Suspicion the wait for a first win will go on.

Form: 33455-5

(2)

Hood Wink^b¹²^{(ex 6)}

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 45| D

8/1

Behind a couple of these at Redcar last month but found improvement when dead-heating over 1m at Wetherby (good to firm) 12 days ago. Probably should have won outright having had to wait for a gap. Carries a 6 lb penalty.

Form: 254-071

(1)

Princess Coco¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: Cam Hardie| T: S Whitaker| OR: 46

Forecasts

Masaban (8/11), Dalamara (11/2), Clear Above (13/2), Hood Wink (8/1), Resdev Time (17/2), Miss Mambo (22/1), Bobbys Pride (50/1), Princess Coco (100/1)

MASABAN travelled well enough in a 6f Doncaster novice on his first outing for Ed Bethell to think he could be a cut above 0-60 level now moving into a handicap. Dalamara did well to get fourth at Redcar given how slowly she started and is second choice ahead of recent Wetherby dead-heater Hood Wink.
