Miss Magic Dragon³^{(ex 6)}

Age: 3| Weight: 9-10| J: Shane Gray| T: D Donovan| OR: 50| D

9/2

Showed improved form to get off the mark in 10-runner handicap at Bath (5.7f, good to firm) 3 days ago, aided by good track position to lead over 1f out. Carries a penalty and ought to remain competitive.

Form: 696-51

Kwidsin⁴²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Alistair Rawlinson| T: Grant Tuer| OR: 55

22/1

Went the wrong way from his debut last summer and failed to improve sent handicapping on return at Southwell 6 weeks ago.

Form: 598-0

(1)

Hares Bredth^t¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: O McSweeney| T: T D Easterby| OR: 54

15/2

Looked rusty despite making the frame after 7 months off when fourth of 10 at Ripon (6f, good) 12 days ago. Could well step up on that here.

Form: 9775-4

(2)

Powernap^h¹⁹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: D C Costello| T: J Bedi| OR: 53

40/1

Failed to repeat previous effort encountering more testing ground than before when fourth of 5 in nursery at Catterick (6f, soft) back in October. Dropped 2 lb for her return but others more appealing.

Form: 747734-

(4)

I'm Dan Dare^p1¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Jack Nicholls⁽⁵⁾| T: Adrian Nicholls| OR: 53

18/1

No obvious promise in 3 turf outings at the end of last summer and failed to improve on handicap debut after 7 months off at Nottingham (5f, good to soft) recently. Cheekpieces go on.

Form: 685-0

(12)

Long Shot^p¹⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 52

9/2

Minor promise only in 4 starts at up to 6f last season but found some improvement for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces after 6 months off when third of 8 in handicap over C&D (good) 17 days ago. Enters calculations for a yard amongst the winners.

Form: 8086-3

(6)

Woody Y Fernandez³⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: C J Whiteley⁽⁷⁾| T: S Hanlon| OR: 50

15/2

Shaped well going without any equipment on first outing since leaving Jennie Candlish after 11 weeks off when third of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6f) just over 5 weeks ago. Every chance he can build on that back on turf.

Form: 2853-03

(10)

The Floors Munky²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Amie Waugh⁽³⁾| T: Gary Rutherford| OR: 50

50/1

Well held on debut for Iain Jardine last summer and has been tailed off twice for his new stable this season. Hopes pinned a switch to sprinting on handicap debut.

Form: 5-70

(8)

Dream Forever³⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: J Garritty| T: Jedd O'Keeffe| OR: 50

11/1

Looks to have returned an improved model this season and can have his latest effort at Pontefract ignored.

Form: 688-240

(13)

Brain Freeze^b²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Connor Beasley| T: M Dods| OR: 50

25/1

Bits and pieces of promise last season but offered little at Newcastle on all-weather after 6 months off recently. Headgear reapplied for her return to turf.

Form: 66374-0

(9)

Monk's Hill^t1¹⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: Jason Hart| T: I Furtado| OR: 49

9/2

Wasted no time getting back to form returned to all-weather when fourth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 10 days ago, her effort worth marking up given she was pestered on the front end throughout. Not without each-way hope in a first-time tongue tie.

Form: 8-47204

(11)

Ganthorpe¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: Lewis Chalkley⁽⁷⁾| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 49

9/1

Proving consistent rather than progressive, again showing a tendency to wander off a true line under pressure when fifth of 15 in handicap at Nottingham (6f, good) 11 days ago. Not out of things.

Form: 6-85355

(14)

Auspicious¹⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: Alex Jary⁽³⁾| T: N Tinkler| OR: 49| D

16/1

Signed off for 2025 with a Newcastle win over 6f and he shaped well when third back over that C&D in March, rearing leaving the stalls. Made little impact returned to turf here recently so hardly one for maximum faith.

Form: 701-735

(7)

Noble Gentleman^p1¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Billy Garritty| T: R A Fahey| OR: 47

16/1

Didn't show much in a trio of quick fire runs in all-weather maidens and never threatened on handicap/turf bow at Nottingham recently. May need stepping up in trip to see more and first-time cheekpieces are applied.

Form: 9768

Forecasts

Miss Magic Dragon (9/2), Long Shot (9/2), Monk's Hill (9/2), Hares Bredth (15/2), Woody Y Fernandez (15/2), Ganthorpe (9/1), Dream Forever (11/1), Auspicious (16/1), Noble Gentleman (16/1), I'm Dan Dare (18/1), Kwidsin (22/1), Brain Freeze (25/1), Charcon (25/1), Powernap (40/1), The Floors Munky (50/1)

An open-looking finale which can go the way of WOODY Y FERNANDEZ, who is down to a handy mark and shaped well going without any equipment when third at Wolverhampton on his recent yard debut. Miss Magic Dragon was helped by a good track position when getting off the mark at Bath on Monday and she's fancied to feature under a penalty, with Long Shot, Ganthorpe and Auspicious a handful of others worth considering, too.
