Awarded the Spring Mile at Doncaster early last season. Unable to add to that after for different yards but starts out for Jim Goldie on a tempting mark and has won fresh.

Returned to form in a change of headgear (first-time cheekpieces) when just failing at Windsor, looking unlucky not to win (denied a run over 1f out). Obvious claims off the same mark although not guaranteed to back up that performance.

Remains with just a sole 2-y-o victory to her name but ran well dropped into a 0-70 for the first time at Southwell last week. Same mark and respected in another change of headgear.

Still to win a handicap but was well backed returned to turf after 9 weeks off and got back on track when length second of 13 at Thirsk last month, keeping on. Clearly on a workable mark and could be the way to go back at the scene of his sole success.

Enjoyed a tremendous 2025, winning 3 C&D handicaps. Needs more from this sort of mark on return and first time back might not be the time to catch her.

Races mostly at Newcastle these days (successful off 5 lb higher mark in September). Just as effective on turf but this trip might stretch him.

Free-going type, best when granted a strong gallop. Won at Hamilton this time last year and not beaten far off this mark there on Sunday.

Forecasts

Eve's Boy (11/5), Starliner (10/3), Pearl Eye (5/1), Rajapour (5/1), Donna Nook (11/2), Penelope's Sister (11/1), Novak (20/1)

Verdict

EVE'S BOY signalled a return to winning ways could be imminent when gambled on and going close at Thirsk and could be the way to go back at the scene of his sole success. Pearl Eye is interesting starting out for Jim Goldie, while David O'Meara has a strong hand with Rajapour and Donna Nook.
