Very progressive form, looking like one who can make up for lost time for his good yard when returning from a year off to easily win a C&D novice in March. Never really going switched to a handicap at Wolverhampton last month but he remains one to be positive about.

Pressure's On34
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-8| J: P J McDonald| T: E A L Dunlop| OR:  79| D
Right back to his best this year, runner-up in a pair of 7f handicaps at Wolverhampton in March. Shaped much better than the distance beaten suggests when eighth of 22 at Doncaster (1m) 5 weeks ago and he rates a major player returned to this trip.

Garnered a fourth course victory in 11-runner handicap here (6f) in March. Shaped as if amiss later that month and can quickly bounce back.

C&D winner in December but will need to shrug off a couple of poor efforts if he's to get involved. Returns from 3 months off.

Prolific winner at this track over the winter of 2024/25 but has presumably had issues since, not beaten anywhere near so far as on return from a lengthy absence but still looking some way off being competitive here last month. Back up in trip.

The Green Manv,t11
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2| J: L Morris| T: P A Kirby| OR:  73| CD
Recorded three wins here last year, the latest over C&D in December. Knocking at the door in recent starts, throwing down a strong challenge when second of 14 over C&D 11 days ago. Fancied to be in the mix again.

Ey Up Its Jazz33
Age: 7|  Weight: 8-9| J: Barry McHugh| T: T Coyle & K Wood| OR:  66| D
Appreciates soft ground and won at Ayr and Thirsk across a largely positive 2025 campaign. Showed the benefit of a recent run when sixth of 22 at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) 5 weeks ago and likely to be back to somewhere near his best here.

Blufferonthebus16
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-7| J: Rhys Elliott(5)| T: Craig Lidster| OR:  64| CD
Successful at Carlisle last summer and, following a string of below par performances, she got back on track with 7f handicap wins at Musselburgh and over C&D in November. Shaped as if the run was needed at Beverley last month but others more appealing from a win perspective.

Forecasts

Recency Bias (5/2), The Green Man (11/4), Pressure's On (5/1), Ey Up Its Jazz (8/1), Beale Street (10/1), William Dewhirst (12/1), Rich Rhythm (14/1), Blufferonthebus (16/1), Gressington (16/1)

Verdict

Preference is for PRESSURE'S ON, who shaped much better than the distance beaten suggested at Doncaster 5 weeks ago and Ed Dunlop's 5-y-o can resume his progress returned to his optimum trip. Recency Bias never really looked like justifying a short price on his recent handicap debut, but he can give the selection most to think about, with The Green Man rounding off the shortlist.
