Signed off for David Simcock with a double in 2024 before running poorly on stable debut. Goes without the hood on the back of a 19-month absence and market may be best guide.
Low-mileage 4-y-o who got off the mark on final start last year at Catterick (1½m) in August. Improved when winning 7-runner event on handicap debut at Newcastle (12.4f) on return in March. Further progress is expected on first try at a marathon trip.
Lightly-raced gelding who won twice from 3 starts last year, both at Hamilton. 14/1, shaped as if amiss when last of 12 in Melrose Stakes at York (1¾m, good to firm) when last seen in August. Yard know how to ready one off a break.
Made a great start for this yard, recording an all-weather hat-trick in March. Creditable seventh of 14 in handicap (7/1) at Lingfield (2m) 23 days ago, carrying a 5 Ib penalty. Is lower in the weights here and it would be no surprise to see him feature.
Dual winner when trained by Robert Eddery last year. First run since leaving Darryll Holland when creditable 2 lengths third of 7 to St Faz in handicap (9/4) at Lingfield (2m) in March. Was well backed then and any positive market vibes should be noted once more.
Only seen twice on the Flat in the last 2 seasons and was a creditable third of 9 in handicap at Gowran (1½m, soft) 17 days ago. Is significantly back up in trip whilst racing from 1 Ib lower than last time.
Was kept busy last year winning 4 times from 19 runs. 40/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at this course (1¾m, soft) 22 days ago, not knocked about. He's a 4-time course winner who steps back down in grade and market may be best guide.
A 3-time course winner. Ninth of 14 in handicap here (12.5f, good, 50/1) 14 days ago. Has been let down by some tardy starts of late and others are preferred.

Forecasts
Alther Walden (11/10), Senor Cortez (9/2), Whimsy (11/2), Talismans Time (6/1), St Faz (11/1), Trojan Sun (16/1), Simple Star (22/1), Mountain Road (50/1)
A competitive handicap and it may pay to side with the unexposed 4-y-os in the field, with the progressive ALTHER WALDEN getting the nod over Talismans Time. Several have a chance for minor money purposes, with St Faz taken to bounce back for a place.
