Fair form. Best effort when length third at Lingfield (1m, all-weather) in March. Respectable seventh in a stronger race at Yarmouth since. Won't need to raise his game much for the step up in trip.
Teofilo colt who was bought 20,000 gns last autumn. Rookie trainer has had a winner but a watching brief is advised on debut.
Better effort in turf novices 6 months apart when 4 lengths third of 8 at Bath (1¼m, good) 18 days ago. Player for leading stable which won this race in 2024.
40,000 gns Sottsass gelding. Brother to 1m-1½m winner Dixmude. Dam, US 8.5f winner, half-sister to useful French 1¼m winner Vue Fantastique. From a yard in form and would enter calculations if the betting speaks in his favour.
€65,000 Sea The Moon gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart winner up to 1½m Bluestocking out of very smart winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner) Emulous. Another newcomer who needs monitoring in the betting.
Masar gelding. Dam, 7f winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1½m Elite Army out of Prix Miesque winner (stayed 11f) White Rose. An interesting debutant.
Failed to beat a rival on Chelmsford debut last autumn but showed ability when fourth over 1m at Thirsk on reappearance 13 days ago. Up in trip. More will be needed here.
Showed promise when third of 13 on 1m Kempton debut in November. Possibly needed run when fifth of 9 at Doncaster (1¼m, good to soft) 26 days ago. Likely to figure prominently if back to his debut form.

Forecasts
Cape Fear (5/4), Fighter's Spirit (11/4), Three No Trumps (9/2), It's Debatable (9/1), Al Maslool (12/1), Le Morbihan (22/1), Barak Warrior (25/1), Mayflower Billy (80/1)
CAPE FEAR is taken to build on his latest Bath third over this trip and provide Andrew Balding with a second success in this maiden in the last 3 years. Three No Trumps will be a danger if recapturing the level of last year's debut. Al Maslool has also shown promise, while a market move for one or more of the newcomers would also bring them into the reckoning.
