Racing TV Open NH Flat Race (GBB Race)

Off time: 17:54 | Winning time: 4m 3.84s

Midday Rendezvous³⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Ian Power| T: J Candlish

9/4

Passing glance gelding overcame inexperience and 2 of today's rivals to make a winning debut at Newcastle, enhancing his yard's fine recent record in bumpers, though he might just be vulnerable under a penalty.

Form: 1

Dilrisk³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards| BF

13/8

€35,000 No Risk At All gelding was gambled on and shaped with plenty of encouragement when fourth behind Midday Rendezvous in a Newcastle bumper on debut. Will improve and has strong claims to reverse that form on better terms.

Form: 4

Eagle Warrior^h³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: P W Wadge| T: A M Thomson

10/3

€60,000 purchase after winning an Irish point at the second attempt and he offered something to work with when 4½ lengths fifth of 12 to Midday Rendezvous, for all longer distances will likely prove his optimum.

Form: 6-15

Yorgunnarock

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: D R Fox| T: W Coltherd

16/1

Yorgunnabelucky gelding. Dam (b68), ran once in bumper, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chase winner (stayed 21f) Glencassley. Newcomer is probably one for the longer term.

Form:

Teescomponents Gal

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: G Boanas

50/1

Jack Hobbs mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler/chaser Fenland Tiger (2½m-3¼m winner) and fair hurdler Teescomponentstrig (3m winner). Debutante is likely to need more time/distance.

Form:

Cape Warrior²⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Joshua Thompson⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond

7/1

Flat-bred gelding coped well with the test of speed when second of 5 in a Wetherby bumper on debut, and though grossly flattered by his proximity to the winner, he still commands respect in a thin race.

Form: 2

Forecasts

Dilrisk (13/8), Midday Rendezvous (9/4), Eagle Warrior (10/3), Cape Warrior (7/1), Yorgunnarock (16/1), Teescomponents Gal (50/1)

There's plenty to suggest that DILRISK can make it second time lucky and reverse form with Midday Rendezvous in the process. Cape Warrior showed ability when runner-up on his debut and could prove the main danger to the selection.
