Dual winner last year. 50/1, creditable 5 lengths ninth of 15 to Ardisia in listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar (6f, good to soft) on final start. Off 6 months ahead of reappearance. Not obviously well treated.
Fairly useful form at 2, including second in a C&D novice. Also good third of 12 in 6.5f handicap at the Doncaster St Leger meeting. Ran poorly on her final 2 starts but returns with Ed Bethell in good form. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Had 3 outings over 6f last year, winning maiden on Newcastle's tapeta and a novice at Leicester on good to soft. Open to further improvement now handicapping on return for a stable with a good record in this race.
Got off the mark in maiden at Ayr (5.5f, good) last July. Ran with credit in nurseries on next 3 starts and given a break since a below-par effort at York in October.
Progressive form for Ralph Beckett last autumn, culminating with 6f Wolverhampton novice success. New connections acquired him for 26,000 gns in October. Makes handicap debut for new connections from what could be a favourable draw near the rail.
Returned from a gelding operation to win a 6f Wolverhampton maiden in March. Creditable third of 7 in handicap (15/8) at Southwell (6f) since. Cheekpieces on first time. Might have a fitness edge over some.
Won a 6f Kempton novice last autumn. No extra late on when third of 8 on 7f Southwell handicap debut on New Year's Day (final start for Oliver Cole). New yard quick to drop him back to sprinting.
Bagged a pair of 6f novices at Ayr and Redcar at the end of last summer but failed to kick on in nurseries after. His stable has won this 4 times since 2016 but Storm Esme is it's more obvious contender.
Bounced back from a couple of disappointing efforts when ending her time with Ed Bethell with a 6f Newcastle novice win in December. Sold for 11,00gns ahead of this handicap debut for new connections.
Finished last of 7 on debut for Danny Brooke last summer but offered a lot more when reaching the frame in maiden/novice for Phil Kirby in the autumn. Steps up to 6f now handicapping for the first time on his return.
Best effort in 4 maiden/novice events for John Ryan at 2 when third of 11 over 7f at Lingfield (polytrack) in September. Sold for 10,000 gns ahead of handicap debut for new yard.
Claiming winner and better form when placing in 3 nurseries over 6f later in the year. Ran poorly at Redcar on final start. Off 6 months.
C&D maiden winner last year who showed improved form when narrowly denied in 5f Catterick handicap on reappearance last Wednesday. Same mark today and this prominent racer looks to have plenty going for her from the rail draw.

Forecasts
Empress Olivia (9/2), Storm Esme (5/1), Cotai Belle (11/2), Mighty Magnus (13/2), Generous Rascal (13/2), Bye Law (15/2), Rogue Temptation (9/1), Wyle Cop (12/1), Wise Crack (16/1), Hvar (16/1), Head For Freedom (20/1), Fordham Flyer (40/1), Yy Spirit (66/1)
EMPRESS OLIVIA turns out again before a 2 lb rise for her Catterick near miss kicks in and she could take a bit of pegging back against the rail. Tim Easterby's strong record in this race marks Storm Esme down as an obvious danger. Wyle Cop arrives on the back of a couple of good efforts on the all-weather last month and is next on the list ahead of the Quinn stable's new recruit Hvar.
- Storm Esme5/1
- Wyle Cop12/1
