Three-time winner over 7f last season who ran well twice over this trip earlier this year. Recent form figures not so inspiring but those efforts have come over 1m and this drop back in trip rates more suitable from steadily easing mark.

Doubled his tally over 6f here in November for Katie Scott. Quick to find his feet for new yard, posting another solid effort when runner up over this trip at Thirsk 5 days ago. Big player in a switch of headgear from same mark.

Dual winner in 2025 who was seen to good effect from the front and had just enough in reserve when adding to his tally over C&D in January. Nudged up just 1 lb so he ought to remain competitive.

Placed 4 times on all-weather/turf during first half of 2025 for George Boughey but well beaten both starts for Robert Eddery thereafter. Fitted with a hood starting out for another new yard and the betting can likely prove best guide with a hood now reached for.

Losing run is mounting up but finished runner up over C&D in February and shaped much better than bare result when eighth in 22-runner amateur handicap at Doncaster (1m) 17 days ago. Now 2 lb below last winning mark and one to bear in mind.

Long time without a win and he failed to build on promise of last run when seventh in a 6f handicap here 10 days ago. Still, he can't be discounted from this mark if putting it all together.

Successful on 2 of first 3 starts here this year (latterly over C&D) and quickly put a lesser effort behind him when third back at this C&D 18 days ago. Fancied to be thereabouts again for all his draw makes things a little tougher.

Dual winner on all-weather, latterly at Kempton (1m) in September. Posted a good third on penultimate start prior to shaping as if amiss on final outing in November and tricky draw to overcome on return.

Proved as good as ever when resuming winning ways in 9-runner handicap at Chelmsford (7f) in August. Possibly needed first run starting out for new yard/after 7 months off over 6f here 32 days ago and better showing not ruled out.

Improved to land back-to-back 6f handicaps here/Lingfield last summer. Switched yards thereafter and not seen to best effect having met with trouble in running when a staying-on fifth on return to action at Wolverhampton 9 days ago. Interesting with that run under his belt.

Best effort for this yard when fifth of 12 in handicap (25/1) at Wolverhampton on penultimate start but couldn't replicate that having been unable to lead when eighth back over same C&D 9 days ago.

Doncaster winner (1m) in July but form has been up and down on all-weather in recent months, struggling to land a blow when seventh in a C&D handicap 8 days ago. Others stronger.

Forecasts

Rainwater (10/3), Orbital Chime (10/3), Rusheen Boy (4/1), Dancing With Drums (11/2), Call Glory (17/2), Beelzebub (9/1), Enpassant (10/1), English Lady (28/1), Aspire To Glory (33/1), Embarked (40/1), On Key (50/1), Sixteen One (66/1)

Verdict

ORBITAL CHIME gave warning he won't be long in opening his account for the James Owen yard when finishing a good second at Thirsk on Friday and, operating from the same mark, he's fancied to make another bold bid in a change of headgear. Dancing With Drums, Rainwater and January C&D scorer Rusheen Boy are others fancied to be in the thick of things.
