Pandemonium171
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-11| J: Oisin Murphy| T: S & E Crisford| OR:  87
Soft-ground Yarmouth maiden winner on debut and completed a simple task in a Redcar novice (7f, good to soft) in October. Pitched into Group 3 company and must have been amiss in the Horris Hill later that month. Off since and mark looks stiff on bare form up in trip but Murphy is booked.

Plenty to like about him physically as a 2-y-o and he improved for step up to 7f when a commanding winner at this track in October. Not in the same form on heavy ground in a listed race at Saint-Cloud 3 weeks later and off since. Will stay 1m+ and type to do better at 3 yrs.

Won readily on debut over 7f at Haydock last September and looked a useful colt in the making when outclassing 11 rivals under a penalty at Southwell in February (1m). Opening mark looks lenient.

Runner-up on first 2 starts in October and didn't need to improve to land the odds at Newcastle a month later (all 7f). Good-topped colt and stamina on dam side of the pedigree but he'll need to improve to defy this mark.

Darn Hot Gallop143
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: H Crouch| T: J Tate| OR:  83
Overcame signs of greenness to make a winning start at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in November and improved when defying a penalty at Newcastle 3 weeks later. Very much the type to improve again as a 3-y-o, particularly as her stamina is drawn out.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: O McSweeney| T: Ruth Jefferson| OR:  83
Triple winner at up to 7f for Karl Burke in a fairly busy 2-y-o campaign. Signed off with excellent second over 7f at this track in October bur lacks the scope to improve of a few of these on return for new yard.

Blue Courvoisier196
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6| J: Rossa Ryan| T: C G Cox| OR:  82
Well prepared to make a winning debut over 7f at Leicester in September. That race didn't really work out but he cemented a solid start to his career when runner-up over this trip a Bath 3 weeks later. More to come.

90,000 gns foal, 200,000 gns yearling, Mehmas colt. Improved in each of his 3 starts during the second half of 2025, second of 11 on first crack over 1m at Salisbury in October. That race worked out quite well and he's in the right hands to progress again this year.

Akho Mezzna194
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: Tom Marquand| T: Jack Jones| OR:  80
Put experience to good use when making fourth start a winning one at Salisbury in October. Off since (has been gelded) but 1m expected to be well within range this season.

Arbaawy172
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: Ray Dawson| T: J Butler| OR:  79
Consistent rather than progressive in winless 6-race juvenile campaign. Returns with yard among the winners but doesn't have the same profile as many of these.

Raging Raj107
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: Hollie Doyle| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam| OR:  77| D
Found a chunk of improvement to win a 1m nursery at Kempton (doing well having met trouble) and progressed again when following up over 7f at Southwell. Signed off with excellent second at latter venue and a danger if continuing the good work on return back on turf.

Luzon Heights183
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Marco Ghiani| T: W J Knight| OR:  76| BF| D
Confirmed previous promise with a career best to get off the mark in a 6-runner nursery at Southwell (8.1f) in September. Didn't do a lot wrong despite failing to land the odds at Kempton soon after and he returns with his yard in reasonable form.

Forecasts

We're Goosers (9/2), Tiger Power (5/1), Darn Hot Gallop (6/1), Pandemonium (6/1), Blue Courvoisier (7/1), Major Neigh Sayer (10/1), Akho Mezzna (12/1), Luzon Heights (12/1), St Anton (12/1), Blue To Blue (16/1), Raging Raj (16/1), Arbaawy (20/1)

Verdict

A tough early-season handicap to get a handle on but the assessor has taken a big chance with TIGER POWER's opening mark given the impression he created when winning at Southwell in February. He's therefore the call, though plenty of these have the potential to do better at 3 yrs, notably Darn Hot Gallop and Blue Courvoisier.
