Front-runner who has improved for application of blinkers this year, again coming in for a sound tactical ride when making it 3 wins from last 4 starts at Chelmsford (1m) 4 weeks ago, proving 1¾ lengths too good for Commander of Life. Respected under promising claimer for all he's drawn wide.

Consistent sort who shaped well when chasing home better-placed Lexington Jet at Chelmsford (1m) 4 weeks ago. Nudged up 1 lb on the back of that effort but easy to envisage him in the mix again.

4/1
C&D winner who has been a revelation this winter, making it 5 wins from last 7 starts in 7-runner handicap at Chelmsford (1m) 26 days ago, proving too strong for a similarly progressive stablemate. Cheekpieces go back on and claims from 6 lb higher mark.

Registered back-to-back victories over 1m in November and bettered each of his 2 previous efforts this year when 3¼ lengths third of 7 behind Lexington Jet in a qualifier for this at Chelmsford 26 days ago. Well drawn and not discounted on these revised terms.

Good start for Mick Appleby, confirming promise of his Kempton third when off the mark at Nottingham (1m) in October. Found himself with too much to do after 5 months off when fifth behind Lexington Jet at Chelmsford 26 days ago and fancied to be much more competitive here.

Ended a losing run at Chelmsford (7f) in February and has been seen to nothing like best effect either start since, finishing 6 lengths fourth of 7 to Lexington Jet at Chelmsford (1m) 4 weeks ago. Hails from a yard amongst the winners and he's respected.

Three-time winner on all-weather who lines up here in good form, finishing 3¾ lengths third of 7 behind Tonal in handicap at Chelmsford (1m) on latest outing in June. Each-way possibilities again.

A fair 7f winner for Brian Meehan but yet to get competitive in trio of starts for present stable, racing freely and merely plugging on when fifth behind Signcastle City at Chelmsford (7f) 54 days ago. Cheekpieces now the headgear of choice but others preferred.

Finally off the mark in maiden company over 1m in January and best effort since when runner up from this mark at Lingfield in February, However, has his quirks and he's disappointed equipped with cheekpieces on last 2 starts. Drawn widest of all today.

Successful on stable debut at Chelmsford (1m) in August and runner up on 3 of 5 starts thereafter. Not firing on all cylinders since, below form after 12 weeks off when finishing sixth behind Lexington Jet back at Chelmsford 26 days ago. One of 5 runners for Ian Williams.

Consistent type who has enjoyed a productive spell on all-weather this winter and proved better than ever back on turf when readily landing 22-runner amateurs handicap at the Lincoln meeting 9 days ago. Suited by how the race developed then but very much respected under a penalty.

Registered a second success since the turn of the year at Chelmsford (7f) in January but summed up by his handicap mark judged on last 3 starts and this is surely too competitive.

Forecasts

Commander Of Life (10/3), Tonal (4/1), Studious (11/2), Moonjid (6/1), Signcastle City (6/1), Lexington Jet (8/1), Uniting (9/1), Rising Force (16/1), Giant (22/1), Law Of Design (33/1), Echalar (40/1), My Boy Harry (40/1), Gennadius (50/1)

Verdict

An unsurprisingly competitive series final and with that in mind it could be worth siding with MOONJID. He wasn't seen to anything like best effect when fifth behind Lexington Jet at Chelmsford 4 weeks ago and, entitled to come on for that run, Mick Appleby's 4-y-o could well represent a spot of value. Signcastle City is feared along with the red-hot Tonal. Lexington Jet and Commander of Life also command respect.
