Racing TV Open NH Flat Race (GBB Race)

Off time: 17:23 | Winning time: 3m 58.61s

Doubly Blessed³²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: D R Fox| T: L Russell & M Scudamore

5/4

£65,000 4-y-o, Vadamos gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Home Made Hero and fair hurdler Doyen For Money. Wide-margin winner of sole start in Irish points (May 2025) and interesting switching to Rules given he's by a sire who tends to put plenty of speed into his offspring.

Poets Whisper

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards

10/11

€40,000 3-y-o, Poet's Word gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 21f) Hatcher. Highly respected on debut for yard that has a fine record in this sphere.

Form:

Ellistrin Jarla³⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Theo Gillard| T: D W Whillans

80/1

Sent off 50/1 and went with no promise on last month's debut at Newcastle. Easy to look elsewhere now taking on the geldings.

Form: 6

Budworth Boy

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Peter Kavanagh| T: Ewan Whillans

20/1

Falco gelding. Dam, 11.2f winner in France, half-sister to very smart hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 2½m) Master Dino and useful 2¼m hurdle winner Master d'Oc. Appeals on paper and the market should offer up some clues.

Form:

Don't Tell Dougie²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Callum Bewley| T: John Dawson

20/1

A cheap purchase (given pedigree) who was held back by inexperience when fourth of 6 at Doncaster on her debut last month. Entitled to step up on that but is up against some well-bred newcomers.

Form: 4

Jimmy The Jet

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Lizzie Quinlan

14/1

£22,500 3-y-o, Jet Away gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Abuffalosoldier and fair hurdler/chaser River Vale. Dam, placed in point, half-sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stays 3m) Dalston Lad. No back number on paper.

Form:

Non-Runners

Berkie³²⁶

Weight: 11-3| Age: 5

T: O Greenall & J Guerriero J: R T Dunne

Forecasts

Poets Whisper (10/11), Doubly Blessed (5/4), Berkie (9/2), Jimmy The Jet (14/1), Budworth Boy (20/1), Don't Tell Dougie (20/1), Ellistrin Jarla (80/1)

Slight preference is for POETS WHISPER, who hails from a stable which has a strong record with its debutants in this sphere. Doubly Blessed ran out a wide-margin winner of his sole start in Irish points and has to be of interest switching to Rules being by a sire who tends to put plenty of speed into his progeny. Berkie is another to note.
