Failed to make his mark over fences after winning a maiden hurdle at Bangor last season. Return to this sphere following wind surgery hasn't had desired effect this campaign, first-time cheekpieces failing to spark a revival last time. Handicapper drops him another chunk.
Ended last season at the top of his game having won 2 of his final 3 starts, including when taking advantage of his lower chase mark at Huntingdon. Made an encouraging return back hurdling after 9 months off when fourth of 8 back there in November but not seen since. Each-way claims.
Yet to make much of an impact over hurdles, including on handicap debut last February. Doubled his Flat tally when last seen at Chelmsford in October and will need to leave previous efforts in this discipline behind to get involved.
Fared better than previously over hurdles when fourth of 6 in handicap at Ffos Las last month, well suited by the step up in trip. Heads up in distance again and that could elicit further progress.
Extended his run of third-place finishes to 4 at Southwell in February. Didn't take to chasing on his first stint over 2 years ago and was well beaten when refusing at the last at Market Rasen later that month. No surprise to see him back over hurdles.
Returned from a 12-week break with a much-improved performance when bolting up in a 15-runner handicap over C&D (good) last week, leading approaching 3 out having jumped well. Officially 7 lb 'well-in' under a penalty here so should prove a tough nut to crack.
Appeared to be getting the hang of things when making the frame on final 2 starts of last season and not for the first time shaped as though he has untapped stamina when sixth of 17 at Exeter recently.
Boasts just the one win from 28 runs and, having left Eugene O'Sullivan, is yet to show anything for current yard, his latest effort coming after a lengthy lay-off.
Modest maiden hurdler for Donald McCain in 2023/24 who registered 3 victories between the Flags back in 2024. However, he's showed nothing following almost 2 years off in 3 starts for this yard.

Forecasts
The Italian Fox (4/11), Bobalot (11/2), Dessie Haze (9/1), Man Maid (11/1), Galassian (14/1), Groom De Cotte (18/1), Kingston Kid (50/1), Home And Dry (50/1), Ffree Pedro (150/1)
THE ITALIAN FOX made short work of his 14 rivals over C&D last week and with further progress on the cards, Joe Tizzard's 6-y-o should take some stopping under a penalty (officially 7 lb 'well-in'). Groom de Cotte made an encouraging return considering he wasn't ideally placed at Huntingdon in November, so he's put forward as the main threat. At forecast longer odds, Dessie Haze could sneak into the placings.
