Won a pair of handicap chases around 2m under Sean Bowen on joining Martin Keighley last spring. Has found life tougher this season, albeit the Plate at Cheltenham last time was always asking a lot. The return to 2m should suit and he's not discounted with his sights lowered. Cheekpieces go on.

Maiden hurdler who has taken very well to fences, winning 2m handicaps at Huntingdon and Musselburgh this winter. Good second in Kempton novice handicap latest and another bold showing is on the cards.

Gained a third win of a resurgent season for Chester Williams when easily seeing off 3 rivals at Wincanton (2m, good to soft) under Tom Bellamy 24 days ago. Even an 8 lb rise may not stop him.

Positive start to his chase career in the autumn, building on Newton Abbot second when going one place better at Wincanton (2m). Given a break since a lesser effort on soft ground at Ludlow in December.

Won 2m maiden hurdle at Warwick last May but has struggled to make a significant impact in handicap company since, with his jumping often sketchy over fences.

Forecasts

Pure Carbon (7/4), Authoceltic (11/4), Haas Boy (16/5), Yes Indeed (11/2), Cobbler's Boy (11/1)

Verdict

HAAS BOY had lots to spare at Wincanton earlier in the month and might be able to defy the handicapper again. Pure Carbon is an obvious danger, although it also wouldn't be a surprise to see Yes Indeed stage a revival with Sean Bowen back in the saddle.
