Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Chase (Grade 3)

Off time: 16:02 | Winning time: 7m 7.40s

You Oughta Know^t⁴⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR: 139

2/1

Off the mark in this sphere at Wexford last summer and posted his best effort yet when finding just one too good in a Cork Grade 3 novice in November. No show in a couple of major Leopardstown handicaps since but he's a big player on these terms.

Ad Caelum⁶³

Age: 7| Weight: 10-7| J: Daniel King| T: J P Ryan| OR: 114| C

14/1

Fairly useful hurdler but record stands at 0-7 in this sphere (stiff task in Grade 2 latest start) and she will need to find improvement from somewhere in order to get the better of Uhavemeinstitches and You Oughta Know.

Form: 266555

Slotty Dotty^t²⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 10-7| J: Calum Hogan| T: Bernard Crowley| OR: 103

15/2

Successful over hurdles at Punchestown in January 2025 and latest second in a handicap at Leopardstown was her best effort yet in this sphere. However, she looks up against it on these terms.

Form: 935622

Uhavemeinstitches¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: Mark Walsh| T: J Motherway| OR: 130| C

8/11

Made a winning chasing debut at Wexford and improved form next 2 starts, third in Grade 2 mares novice here (22.5f) in December. Unseated early on at Naas recently but she will have a major chance if her jumping passes the test this time.

Form: P-1233U

Forecasts

Uhavemeinstitches (8/11), You Oughta Know (2/1), Slotty Dotty (15/2), Ad Caelum (14/1)

UHAVEMEINSTITCHES finished a highly creditable third in the Grade 2 Dawn Run here over Christmas before the drop to 2m counted against her at Naas. The 6-y-o didn't get very far back at that course recently but her jumping has otherwise held up pretty well and she is likely to prove too strong for You Oughta Know.
