Useful in bumpers in 2023/24 and justified support on hurdle debut/reappearance at Chepstow in November. Better than the result when pulled up in River Don Novices' Hurdle 8 weeks ago (faltered badly after jumping 2 out with every chance) so holds obvious claims back in trip/grade under a penalty.

Placed in a couple of bumpers (modest form) but has made a highly discouraging start to his hurdling career. Visor goes on.

Dansant gelding who shaped with some promise when fourth of 6 in a Sedgefield bumper on debut in December. However, he went with no promise at Newcastle the following month and now goes hurdling.

Built on debut promise when second in Musselburgh bumper in December and left hurdling debut form behind when filling that same position over C&D a fortnight ago, rallying run-in having been outpaced 2 out. Probably wants to go back up in trip and a first-time tongue tie goes on.

Pulled clear with a useful prospect on his sole outing in bumpers and again showed promise when sixth of 12 in novice hurdle over C&D (good to soft) last month. Should improve on that effort and fancied to feature.

Wasn't given a hard time on bumper debut at Newcastle in January and looks the type to flourish at a later stage.

Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 1¾m) but yet to make much impact in 3 starts for current yard. Watching brief advised on hurdles bow.

Unplaced in a couple of bumpers last summer and is likely one for handicap hurdles later on judged on her fourth of 5 in novice hurdle at Ayr last month.

Fairly useful maiden on Flat (stays 16.5f) for John & Thady Gosden, placed twice from 6 starts in 2025. Makes hurdles bow for a new yard and the betting should prove a decent guide to expectations.

Forecasts

Rocking Man (1/3), Thorneylands (4/1), Forever Louie (13/2), Prince Phil (12/1), Earnest Belief (14/1), Loving Look (25/1), Mosstown Mill (33/1), Dancing Diana (80/1), Ms Cindy Kate (100/1), Caspada (125/1), Art Dancer (250/1)

Verdict

ROCKING MAN shaped much better than being pulled up suggested in the River Don at Doncaster in January so, back in much calmer waters and dropped back in distance, he's a confident selection to come out on top at the expense of Thorneylands, who should improve on his opening effort over hurdles. Forever Louie and stable-switcher Earnest Belief can fight out third.
