Stepped up on debut when making a winning 3-y-o return in Newcastle maiden and further improvement when fourth in listed race at Newmarket. Took form to another level when going close in the Britannia at Royal Ascot when last seen in the summer and remains with potential.
Won a Kempton handicap in November and good efforts in defeat since, including when third in listed race at Southwell 4 weeks ago.
Won this race 2 years ago off 2 lb higher and recorded first success since when beating 4 rivals at Kempton 10 days ago after 4 months off. Player.
Dual novice winner who was too free to justify support on handicap debut/reappearance but made no mistake with a hood reapplied at Lingfield last week. Potentially smart but does have a wide draw to overcome.
Notably solid record on AW and was a creditable fourth at Lingfield on return last week but does look summed up by his mark.
Low-mileage 4-y-o who has looked as good as ever on the AW this year, winning at Kempton on return before good second there last month. Clearly at the top of his game at present and can go well again.
Resumed progress returned to the AW when winning at Southwell in October and followed that with a good second to Two Tempting at Kempton following month.
Defied a 9-month absence when winning at Newbury in September and firmly back on track in a change of headgear when leading close home at Lingfield in December, value for extra given the ground he had to make up.
Useful for Ger Lyons in Ireland last year but hasn't offered much in 3 starts for current yard.
Debut winner at Newcastle and followed up under a penalty 8 months later at Southwell. Excuses following a good second at Haydock and isn't one to write off just yet.
Consistent performer who recorded fifth career success at Chester in September. However, found the step back up in grade beyond him at Goodwood following month and this no easier.
Looked an improved model for the yard when landing back-to-back victories in January and in better heart than recent form figures suggest, never nearer at Lingfield last time.

Forecasts
The Lost King (3/1), First Principle (5/1), La Botte (11/2), Superposition (11/2), Regal Ulixes (8/1), Kingdom Come (17/2), Two Tempting (10/1), High On Hope (14/1), Christian David (16/1), First Ambition (20/1), Knights Gold (50/1), Bravais (125/1)
LA BOTTE looked an unlucky loser in the Britannia at Royal Ascot when last seen in June and this potentially very smart 4-y-o can cement himself as one of the favourites for the Lincoln itself. Andrew Balding holds a strong hand with The Lost King and Regal Ulixes, while First Ambition makes each-way appeal at bigger odds.
