Successful on his sole start in point bumpers and was value extra over the result when following up in an Exeter bumper in March. Failed to progress at Aintree next time and now switches to hurdling in a first-time hood for new yard.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: J J Burke| T: F O'Brien| OR:  108
Fair bumper performer in Ireland and similar form when placed in maiden hurdles in the first half of 2024. Wasn't disgraced in the face of a stiff task back from a 13-month absence when mid-field in a Cheltenham novice (16.8f) in December and has claims back in more suitable company.
|
Timeform
Bred more for stamina than speed and has shaped in kind all 3 starts in bumpers.
|
Timeform
Doctor Dino gelding who didn't show much in a junior bumper at Hereford on debut 14 months earlier but bred to have a future over jumps.
|
Timeform
Unpromising in points and has shown little in a couple of hurdle starts at Taunton.

Telescope gelding. Brother to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler I Spy A Diva, stays 3¼m. Dam (c80/h135) bumper/19f-3m hurdle winner. Yard had success with this family but he's bred to need longer trips.
Timeform
Fairly useful form when winning maiden bumper at Moulins (11.9f) in 2023/24 for Emmanuel Clayeux. Went off second favourite but got no further than the first returning after 22 months off on Huntingdon hurdling debut. Hooded now and it will be interesting to see if his backers return.

£140,000 purchase after winning sole outing in points. Ran to a borderline fair level in a Newton Abbot bumper prior to find only one too good on his hurdling debut over C&D, pulling a long way clear of rest. Sets the standard on that form.

Timeform
Shaped much better than previously when fifth of 9 in maiden hurdle at Chepstow (16.1f, soft) recently and probably has more ability to reveal once he becomes more professional.

Showed promise in maiden/novice hurdles and was in touch when clipping heels and falling on Wincanton handicap debut in December. Finished down the field at Lingfield since, however.
|
Timeform
Point winner but sent off long odds and offered little in a brace of outings over hurdles at Wincanton and Exeter in December.
|
Timeform
Shaped much better than in a Huntingdon bumper when second in a Fontwell novice (17.7f) in January. However, went backwards in a big way at Wincanton later in the month.

Forecasts

On The Bayou (1/1), Limier D'arthel (3/1), Can't Resist It (6/1), Amatchmadeinheaven (10/1), I Can See Formiles (14/1), Passage Du Maure (16/1), Crystal Orchard (20/1), Sea Warrior (25/1), Bunny Bee (33/1), Mr Winter (50/1), Mrs Pen (50/1), Docteur Romeo (50/1), Barford Brook (66/1), Bahati Bahati (66/1), Georges Street (100/1), Bee's Kiss (100/1)

Verdict

ON THE BAYOU may have been thwarted by the longest-priced winner in British history on his hurdling debut over C&D in December, but the form hasn't worked out at all badly in behind and he's fancied to go one better having been given plenty of time to get over such a gruelling race. Limier d'arthel was well supported prior to departing early on his first outing over hurdles at Huntingdon and remains one to keep an eye on, with Can't Resist It also feared back at a more suitable level.
