Virgin Bet Grimthorpe Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Better than ever when back to winning ways over this trip at Newbury just after Christmas. That form has been franked and he's capable of going well again.

Hasn't added to last season's Chepstow chase debut success in 8 subsequent starts in this sphere but placed on several occasions, including at Wincanton in a first-time visor (retained) last month. Considered for a stable no stranger to success in this.

Took his form to a new level last season, winning first 3 starts of the campaign. Not at his best at Aintree (National fences) and Cheltenham before Christmas but back on his last win mark if reviving after a break.

Has struck twice over fences since fitted with a tongue tie, latterly seeing off the reopposing New Order by 3¾ lengths in the valuable Great Yorkshire Chase over 3m here. Respected.

Pretty useful hurdler/chaser who has gradually worked his way back to top form this season, making all over this trip at Fontwell in October. Good second in 29f Berkshire National at Ascot since. Off 3 months.

Very progressive last season, bagging a handicap 5-timer (3 hurdle, 2 chase). Second at the Punchestown Festival in May and returned with a respectable fourth in Rehearsal at Newcastle (3m) in November. Fell at Cheltenham since. Has first-time cheekpieces added to usual tongue tie.

Three-time chase winner (at up to 3m) following a wind op last season. Even better form when placing 3 times this winter, latterly 3¾ lengths second of 8 to Dartmoor Pirate in the Great Yorkshire Chase over 3m here. Should go well off unchanged mark.

Reliable sort who was back to winning ways in 3m Musselburgh handicap (good to soft) 4 weeks ago. 7 lb higher in a more competitive race now.

Third win of a productive campaign when seeing off 4 rivals at Plumpton in December. Freshened up. All his chase wins have come in small fields so does need to prove he can adapt to this more competitive scenario.

Took the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby last term and back to winning ways when making all over 3m here just after Christmas. Didn't take to the cross-country fences at Cheltenham since. Had wind surgery since.

Better than ever on second outing back from a long absence when winning 25f Wincanton handicap on Boxing Day. Will need more to defy a 5 lb higher mark in this deeper race. One of 3 for Neil Mulholland.

Big-priced winner of this race in 2023 and 2025. First sign of life this season when 12 lengths third of 7 at Some Scope over 3m here at the end of December. His record in this makes him a dangerous one to discount.

Back to form with a bang when just holding on at Newcastle (23.5f, heavy) last month. Still feasibly treated off 3 lb higher but he hasn't often strung good runs together.
