Age: 8|  Weight: 12-0| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  110
Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in France during 2021. Seemingly difficult to train though and having shaped as if retaining ability back from 21 months off at Hereford in December before pulled up at Warwick latest. Yard displaying better signs of late if he can bounce back in refitted cheekpieces.

The Long Pointp33
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: H Cobden| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR:  107WS
Bumper winner who showed promise over hurdles last term and stepped up significantly on his opening pair of chase exploits when landing 4-runner handicap chase at Doncaster (3m, soft) 33 days ago, handling conditions best. Player up 3 lb on back of wind surgery.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-9| J: R T Dunne| T: Miss H C Knight| OR:  105
Fair maiden hurdler who posted a very good second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Ascot (24.5f) back in November, giving best only to an unexposed one. His run there the following month (pulled up) was disappointing but given a break ahead of this chase debut and bounce back not ruled out.

Yet to win over fences and he failed to come on for his reappearance fourth at Ffos Las (23.8f) when pulled up at Chepstow (23.6f, soft) 4 weeks ago, rather disconcerting he was beaten some way out. Cheekpieces go back on in place of visor and bounce back called for.

West Orchardp57
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard| OR:  95| CD
Made it 3-4 in this sphere last term with success in a C&D handicap from this mark last December. Off 12 months prior to a good second over hurdles here prior to disappointing back over fences at Taunton (26.3f) 57 days ago. Freshened up since and feasible to expect a better showing.

Forecasts

The Long Point (11/10), West Orchard (7/2), Doctor Midas (4/1), Phantom Getaway (8/1), Nambiti (10/1)

Verdict

THE LONG POINT has stepped up with each outing over fences this campaign, handling underfoot conditions best when opening his account in a small field at Doncaster 33 days ago. He can defy a 3 lb rise and follow up on the back of wind surgery. C&D winner West Orchard has been given a break following a lesser run at Taunton and it's feasible to think he can bounce back. Chase debutant Doctor Midas also commands market scrutiny for positive vibes.
