Iffraaj gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart 11.4f winner Raakib Alhawa and useful scorer at up to 1¼m Nobel. Highly respected on his belated debut, especially if the market vibes are positive.

Progressive form shown in three runs for Aidan O'Brien, third of 13 in maiden (2/1) at Leopardstown (9f, heavy) in October. Tongue strap goes on for his new yard and must enter calculations.

Starspangledbanner gelding who took a step forward from his debut when fifth of 10 in maiden at this C&D 20 days ago. May do better still so he's one to consider.

7/1, encouraging sixth of 12 in maiden at Kempton (8f) on debut 27 days ago, not knocked about. This Farhh colt can do better with that run under his belt.

Forecasts

Exmoor (11/8), Domenico Contarini (7/4), Midsummer Storm (16/5), Maestro Bernstein (12/1), Alfred (18/1), Multaneighttothree (50/1), Haltonwood (66/1), My Dad Frank (150/1), August Spring (150/1), Leysthorpe Star (150/1)

Verdict

The market should reveal plenty in this novice but Karl Burke has his string in great nick so his well-related Night of Thunder colt MIDSUMMER STORM is taken to make a winning start at the chief expense of fellow debutant Domenico Contarini, who is also bred to be well-above average. Maestro Bernstein appeals as the pick of those with experience starting out for Antony Brittain and can have a say, too. Exmoor can build on his Kempton debut sixth and completes the shortlist.
