Made a successful hurdles debut at Newton Abbot (17f) in October and has advanced his form when runner-up under a penalty at Exeter and Taunton since, clear of the rest in 2m3f novice on latter occasion. Should go well again.

Cost £110,000 after finishing second in an Irish point and went one better in 2m novice at Exeter in November. Posted a very good third of 9 on his handicap debut at Windsor (20f, soft) 33 days ago so he's well in the mix back in maiden company.

Fair 1m2f winner on Flat for Rod Millman but well beaten for his new yard in a pair of novice hurdles at Taunton and Wincanton last month. Easy to look elsewhere.

Hinted at promise when sixth in Chepstow bumper in November but only tenth of 12 in similar company at Warwick (16f, soft) 71 days ago. Goes over hurdles now with lots more needed.

200/1, hinted at promise when fifth of 11 in novice at Wincanton (21.4f, heavy) on her hurdles bow 22 days ago. Down in trip and can build on it.

Dartmouth mare who came in third in an Irish point but finished last of 9 in novice at Taunton (16.5f, soft, 100/1) on his NH debut 8 days ago. Significantly more is required.

Failed to complete both starts in points and yet to trouble the judge in a trio of starts over hurdles, albeit was shaping better than previously (in fifth) when unseating rider 3 out at Wincanton (2m5f) last month. Others remain more persuasive though.

Forecasts

Lisbane Park (8/11), Doctor Blue (2/1), Kapitein Kool (7/2), Maximum Benefit (33/1), Dalcassian Girl (80/1), Miss Jaffa Cake (125/1), Follow The Plan (150/1), Forest Hills (300/1)

Verdict

Sam Thomas' useful Ascot scorer DOCTOR BLUE holds the clear edge on form and is worth forgiving his latest Doncaster sixth when reported to have bled so he gets the vote over Lisbane Park who acquitted himself really well pitched into handicap company when third at Windsor and rates a big danger back in maiden company. Kapitein Kool is proving progressive and should also be on the premises.
