Multiple winner for Phil Kirby in 2023/2024 and placed on a few occasions over fences for Lizzie Quinlan last spring. Positive start for new connections when placed over C&D last 2 starts and not taken lightly back down in class.

Enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign but has yet to fire this season. Did at least show an aptitude for chasing when fourth of 6 here 2 weeks ago. Up in trip.

Made perfect start under Rules when winning 19.5f novice hurdle at Doncaster in 2024. Lightly raced since but made encouraging start in this sphere when close third at Newcastle last month. Greater test of stamina here will suit so rates a serious player.

Resumed winning ways at Hexham off this mark in March and went close on return at Carlisle, an uncharacteristic late error arguably costing him the win. Shaped similarly back at that venue next time but disappointed at Newcastle since. Worth another chance back from a break.

Dual chase scorer last winter but he's yet to hit top form this season and others make more appeal on this occasion. Blinkers are retried.

Wide-margin winner of the Edinburgh National here 2 years ago but generally best treated with caution these days (often looks disinterested).

Maiden but has taken well to chasing, runner-up first 2 starts at Catterick before not disgraced at Haydock. Should remain competitive up in trip.

Forecasts

Jus De Citron (9/4), Special Rate (4/1), Inis Oirr (11/2), Bold Light (6/1), Bridge Court (6/1), Jet Legs (7/1), Finn Lough (12/1)

Verdict

JUS DE CITRON made a promising start over fences when a close third at Newcastle last month and looks the one to beat with improvement very likely over this longer distance. Jet Legs is back on a winning mark and rates the main threat despite a below-par run last time. Special Rate has made a decent start for current connections and is another to consider.
