Fairly useful handicapper on the Flat (stays 2m) but was reported to have bled when pulled up in maiden at Tramore (16.8f, soft, 14/1) on hurdling debut 28 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Useful bumper winner for Gary & Josh Moore and was in the process of making an impressive start over hurdles in a Leopardstown maiden (16f, good, 8/15) 34 days ago, in control when stumbling and falling after the last. Exciting prospect who looks the one to beat.

Point winner but little impact in 2 starts under Rules, returning from 10 months off (from bumper) when tenth of 19 in maiden at Cork (16.9f, soft, 66/1) on hurdles bow 53 days ago. Likely to need more time.

Sent off at big odds (200/1) and went with little promise first time up when tailed-off twelfth of 16 in maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) a fortnight ago. Faces another stiff task.

Bred to stay well and hinted at ability when tenth of 18 in maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, good to soft, 100/1) on debut 28 days ago, keeping on albeit without threatening. Looks one for the longer term.

Maiden pointer but showed ability in bumpers and has made an encouraging start over hurdles, fourth of 14 in maiden at Tramore (16.2f, soft, 5/1) on latest outing in November. Could be in the mix,.

Shaped like a stayer in bumpers and it was a similar story sent hurdling when fifth of 15 in maiden at Limerick (19f, heavy, 2/1) a month ago. Has something to find over this shorter distance.

Always behind on first start and again finished well held when seventh of 13 in maiden hurdle at Clonmel (16.9f, heavy, 300/1) 3 weeks ago. Looks to be up against it.

Modest maiden on the Flat but tailed off in a pair of maiden hurdles, tenth of 13 at Clonmel (16.9f, heavy, 66/1) 3 weeks ago. Looks one for handicaps further down the line.

Never dangerous in maiden hurdle at Cork first time up, but under a change of tactics he left that effort behind when fourth of 17 in similar event there (16.9f, good to soft, 150/1) 26 days ago. Will need to find more again.

Placed on final 2 outings in points and offered something to work on sent hurdling when third of 13 in maiden at Tramore (16.8f, soft, 66/1) 28 days ago. Has work to do in this contest, though.

Placed twice from 3 starts over hurdles in France for Gabriel Leenders and, after 11 months off, beat the rest comfortably when second of 16 in maiden at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 6/4) 2 weeks ago, albeit no match for odds-on stablemate. Remains with potential.

Affinisea gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Granny's Secret. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser (2m-21f winner) Golden Sunbird and fairly useful hurdler (stayed 21f) Earlshill. Tough ask on debut.

Making a belated debut, was beaten over a circuit out when pulled up in maiden hurdle at Tramore (21.6f, soft, 80/1) on New Year's Day. Drop in trip not enough to make of interest.

Promising first effort when fourth of 14 in maiden hurdle at Limerick (16f) in November. Ran to similar level when eighth of 18 in another maiden at the same course (20f, heavy, 80/1) 33 days ago, though requires a step forward here.

Verdict

Having shown useful form in bumpers, EL CAIROS had the race at his mercy when falling after the last at Leopardstown on hurdling debut, so he looks to hold strong claims of gaining compensation this time around. The main danger could be Roc Dino, who bumped into a smart prospect on his first run for Willie Mullins, ahead of How's The Head.
