Four-time C&D winner. Six wins from 19 Flat runs. Six wins from 10 runs last year. 12/1, fifteenth of 22 in handicap at York (7f, good) when last seen in July. Good strike rate on the AW (6-10) and will be a threat if ready to roll.
Three-time C&D winner, the latest registered in October. Ninth of 12 in handicap (10/3) back here 30 days ago, not ideally placed. Others preferred.
Twice-raced winner. Second of 7 in novice at Windsor (6f, good to soft, 5/6), making effort earlier than ideal. Off 140 days ahead of this handicap debut but she's open to progress and is very much of interest.
Winner at Southwell in October. Below form sixth of 13 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 16/5) 59 days ago, not ideally placed. Expected to be bang there.
Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/4, good second of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 17 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Should give another good account.
13/8, won 7-runner handicap at this C&D 17 days ago, driven out. That was his seventh C&D success and while this is tougher up 3 lb, he's impossible to discount.
C&D winner. 25/1, tenth of 12 in handicap back over this C&D 30 days ago. Others are more persuasive.
Course winner. Latest win at Southwell in November. 9/4, fifth of 8 in handicap back there (6.1f) 31 days ago. Perhaps a shade too high in the weights for now.
Blinkered for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in handicap (25/1) at Kempton (7f) 89 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Charlie Johnston and cheekpieces back on. Others make more appeal.

Forecasts
Star Of Mali (11/4), Ash Wednesday (7/2), Arantes Nascimento (9/2), He's A Gentleman (13/2), Lodge (8/1), Chifa (17/2), Vince Lombardi (16/1), Beauty Choice (16/1), Anthropologist (28/1)
It could be worth siding with ASH WEDNESDAY, who wasn't at his best at York when last seen in the summer but his record on the all-weather is exemplary and his sole defeat from five previous starts over this C&D was an unlucky near-miss on his first visit on Boxing Day 2024. Unexposed filly Lodge is greatly respected on her handicap debut, while Star of Mali is not short of appeal and Arantes Nascimento and Chifa, who is bidding for the hat-trick, are others to consider.
