2/13
Irish point winner who was 3-3 in bumpers (useful form) and perfect start in this sphere when making all on reappearance in a Chepstow maiden (2m) in November. Seemingly not himself when fourth in listed company at Sandown (2m, soft) latest and no surprise to see him quickly back on track.

£1,500 4-y-o, Mount Nelson gelding who was sent off at long odds and he no more than hinted at ability when fifth of 12 in an Exeter maiden (16.7f) 4 weeks ago. Probably one for handicaps further down the line.

Well-related sort who made an encouraging start to his career when third in an 11-runner Warwick bumper (2m) in March. Had wind surgery ahead of return and having raced freely he was given a considerate introduction when third in a Lingfield novice (2m) in November. Type to do better.

Son of Churchill who is a 3-time winner on the Flat, equipped with blinkers when signing off his time with Ed Walker with success at Salisbury (9.9f) in October. Acquired by new connections for 50,000 gns later that month and interesting what the market makes of him now sent hurdling.

Won a point bumper and followed up in a Chepstow bumper on Rules debut 13 months ago. Failed to see his race out up in grade at Ascot next time and it was a similar story when last seen at Exeter (16.7f) in February. Had wind surgery ahead of return/hurdles bow and that could see him back on track.

€46,000 3-y-o, Gemix gelding. Plenty about him physically and showed ability when fifth only start in bumpers here in November. Similarly shaped with promise on second hurdles try when fifth in a C&D event last month and he promises to do a fair bit better in time.

Kayf Tara gelding out of a 15f-2½m hurdle winner. Placed in a couple of 2m Worcester bumpers during the autumn but took a backward step at Plumpton last month. In very capable hands and a tongue tie now goes on for this switch to obstacles.

Didn't make much impact in a couple of bumpers last term but he did shape with a bit of encouragement equipped with a hood when fifth in a 13-runner C&D maiden 4 weeks ago. Entitled to do better, including when stamina is tested further.

Showed some ability in bumpers but low-key efforts in pair of novice/maiden hurdles in recent months. Best watched.

Modest form in 2 bumpers last season and no show in both starts over timber more recently.

Fair form when fourth in a couple of bumpers before making an encouraging start in this sphere when fourth of 10 in a Warwick novice (19f) 55 days ago. Since had a breathing op and she appeals as a likely improver moving forward.

Forecasts

Sober Glory (2/13), Dutch Corner (11/2), It's Top (12/1), Yeld To Call (18/1), Mescalero (22/1), Spanish Dancer (40/1), Into Battle (40/1), Lheur De Gloire (50/1), Harley's Pride (100/1), Urban Isle (125/1), Colby Mayfield (150/1)

Verdict

SOBER GLORY proved a disappointment when finishing a well held fourth in listed company 39 days ago, yet his overall profile is a most positive one and he's well worth another chance with his sights lowered having looked a smart prospect when scoring on reappearance/hurdles bow at Chepstow previously. Dutch Corner and Yeld To Call are likely improvers who may well prove the lead threats.
