Getaway mare. Half-sister to modest hurdler/chase winner Seasmoke. Dam, multiple hurdle/chase winner up to 3¼m in France, half-sister to very smart cross-country chaser (stays 31f) Easysland. Well-beaten runner-up on first of 2 starts in points and is likely one for the longer term.

Kingston Hill filly. 33/1, ninth of 16 in bumper at Thurles (16.1f, soft) on NH debut 23 days ago. Bred to stay well and probably needs more time/distance.

Crystal Ocean mare, half-sister to a bumper winner. Supported when fourth of 17 in bumper at Fairyhouse (16f, soft) on NH debut 30 days ago, plugged on. That was an encouraging enough debut and she should improve.

Crystal Ocean mare showed plenty when ½ length second of 16 in bumper at Thurles (16.1f, soft) on NH debut 23 days ago, having been strongly supported. Beaten by one with more experience that day and has solid claims to go one better here.

Sans Frontieres mare. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 3m) We'llhavewan. Successful on second of 2 starts in points (Mar 2025). Merits plenty of respect on Rules debut for powerful stable.

Successful sole outing in points. Shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when well-backed fifth on debut. Back on track when second of 15 in bumper (20/1) at Naas (16f, heavy) 28 days ago, having been well positioned. That form is starting to work out and she makes appeal.

Ask mare. Sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Quiz Master, stayed 3m, and fair hurdler/chaser Gondor. Newcomer looks one for the future on paper.

Easy winner sole start in points. Built on considerate reappearance when second of 14 in bumper at Limerick (16f, heavy, 28/1) 17 days ago, travelled well and conceded first run. Expected to be in the mix again.

Stepped up on debut effort when third behind pair of subsequent winners in bumper at Punchestown and ran to a similar level when 5/1, fourth of 16 in bumper at Thurles (16.1f, soft) 23 days ago. Not discounted.

Forecasts

Fastnet Crystal (2/1), How's Hannah (9/4), Ealu (4/1), Simply Natural (13/2), Speisialta (15/2), Tountinna (17/2), Think It Through (9/1), Fancy Fox (12/1), Easily Distracted (16/1), Nells Princess (33/1), Lake Isle (66/1), Aint Over Yet (150/1), Smart Answer (150/1), Ballinaboola Hanna (200/1), Jenina (200/1)

Verdict

FASTNET CRYSTAL was strong in the market when ½ length second on bumper debut last month and appeals most in an open-looking event. Think It Through travelled best and was arguably unlucky not to win at Limerick last time, she's feared along with Naas runner-up Simply Natural, while point winner How's Hannah merits plenty of respect on debut for the formidable Mullins team.
