£100,000 Irish point winner who finished an encouraging second of 12 in bumper at Worcester in October. Quickened nicely to go one place better switched to hurdling a month later and he's expected to build on that under a penalty.

Left his Irish form behind to make a winning start for Stuart Edmunds in 2m Leicester maiden hurdle on heavy last month. Backed that up when third under a penalty at Haydock (would have finished closer but hampered after the last) and he sets the standard up in trip.

Useful middle-distance stayer on the Flat for Andrew Balding. In need of experience when fourth of 13 on 2m Newbury hurdle debut 25 days ago and he's open to plenty of progress.

€52,000 3-y-o, Masked Marvel gelding. Closely related to fair 2¼m hurdle winner Kamino Bello, and half-brother to numerous winners, including French chaser Pasatiempo. Placed both completed starts in Irish points but didn't show enough at Huntingdon to make him of serious interest.

Flat-bred gelding who overcame inexperience to make a winning bumper debut at Huntingdon last November, beating a fair sort. Offered little on Flat debut at Chelmsford 5 months later and having left Chris Gordon, he was also well held on November's debut over obstacles.

Half-brother to high-class hurdler Vauban. Fair form on Flat in France, placed 4 times. Left P. Decouz €40,000 in July and runner-up both starts over hurdles at Plumpton (20.5f) for these connections. Can remain competitive.

Placed in minor events on Flat in France and once-raced over hurdles/fences there, beaten 17 lengths when fifth of 7 to Whymper in minor event at Fontainebleau, hampered 4 out. Has left L. Baudron and been off 21 months.

Having won at Leicester last month, THE CISTERCIAN cemented an excellent start for his new yard when third under a penalty at Haydock. That is the best form on offer here so he'll take some stopping, for all Legendary Luke and Contacto are potential improvers. Point-recruit Mr Finch also needs considering.
