Things haven't gone entirely to plan since but he has quickly slipped to a potentially handy mark (now 5 lb below the mark of that Kempton near-miss) and he shaped encouragingly back from a break/wind op when fifth of 10 over C&D last month. The veteran Repertoire has also come down the weights and is next on the list ahead of Pitney.
